StarSpell

Say salutations to StarSpell, the clan's Arcane Representative and one of the clan's resident Mages, who joined the SkyWings clan shortly after 9 o'clock on the evening of Sept 22, 2019!

Obtained still when she was unnamed, I came up with the idea for her name by thinking of things that were important to the Arcane Flight, and these two things came to mind and thus the idea for her name was born! :D

StarSpell is a happy Spiral that lives up to the hyper-active nature of her kind, and is very full of personality :) She is bright, bubbly and charismatic and a great joy to be around. StarSpell is never low on energy, and that applies to her in more ways than one.. She is an incredibly magical being, having waay more magic in her than most Arcane dragons do upon hatching, which became problematic for her family for they weren't used to this above-normal amount of energy swirling about their child. Because of the ephemeral energies within her, it stained her body pink but left her unmanageable for her family & dragons of her previous clan and thus they decided it'd be best if she found a new home elsewhere with more skilled dragons who could handle her. Her siblings were also pretty powerful and had pink-dyed bodies as well, but they weren't nearly as powerful as their sister.. This lead her to coming to the SkyWings clan who had a few Arcane dragons already but only one who was talented enough to handle the bab, so she was sold to the clan of Wind dragons where she she was welcomed in & made her home. Under the helpful guise of ValentineCherub, the other powerful Mage and talented dragon, she learned to tame her rampant abilities and became skilled in the ways of the energies in the world around her, reaching the levels of the clan's resident Mage and become something of a rival to her. But instead of working against each other or competing, the two dragons of similar backgrounds get along great & work together for a common good, studying spells and working on magical mysteries and helping each other. During her time here, StarSpell has developed her powers & personality within the SkyWings clan, letting her true colors shine and giving way to an energetic character that can keep up with the powers flowing within her :)


As stated above, StarSpell arrived when she was very young and was given away because of her powerful magical abilities that proved too much for her previous family to handle. Though there were a few Arcane dragons in the clan at the time of her arrival, and only one powerful Mage, when Gabrian spotted her in the Auction House in the section marked for 'Unstable Dragons', he knew he was sure he was making the right choice as he plunked down the bag full of treasure that was marked for her price.. even as a magical blast shot from her as she hiccuped and tore half off Valen's beard right off.. ~(see Hibernal Den & Lair for other dragons mentioned within)~ The stone on Gabrian's head glowed, signifying he'd found a derg with a good soul, and when he read the information on her card, his heart went out to her and he knew all the more she needed to come home to the SkyWings clan. The unnamed Spiral looked at the yellow Skydancer with her pink eyes, noting how his eyes were also pink, and she wondered if he could help her as more magical energies curled around the young hatchling. She blinked then continued staring at the Skydancer, and when her eyes shuttered for that brief second, a small purple bolt from her eye shot to the ceiling where it left a scorch mark. A Wildclaw Clerk with dark colors and blue eyes came close, took the bag of coins, and looked to the bab. "Good luck with her," they said. "She's got more power than any Arcane I've ever seen. Gave me this scar right here, too," they said, then pointed to a mar on their arm, that was now sprouting a pink chalcedony-looking growth. "That's new," they muttered to themselves, looking down at the addition, and tried to wipe the rock-like formation that was growing from their arm. They opened the door for the Spiral to leave as Valen looked at Gabrian, unsure of the Skydancer. "You're carrying her," he said gruffly a moment later, not wanting to get covered in light-colored rock-like growths himself. Gabrian laughed, then smiled and obliged, and the Spiral, who became known as StarSpell, crawled up his arm to rest among his shoulder for she liked the way he felt so kind and welcoming, and from that day forward, the incredibly magical Spiral was welcomed into the SkyWings clan. If only singing his fur a little on the way to her home..
Since she was so powerful from such a young age, she was raised by many a dragon within the clan who had experiences with child-rearing, nurturing, and also her abilities. The Arcanes that resided here tried their hand at working with her but found she was too much even for them and it was only ValentineCherub who had any success with the bab. As she got older, however, after many sessions with Valentine, she still sought the help of the others and it was at this time that their skills proved useful for her. Through her time spent with Valentine, she became like another daughter to the Skydancer & Ridgeback pair as she also developed her persona. Merriona also played a role in her family life, and she likes to think of the Nocturne as another mother, or perhaps an aunt or a much older sister, for she helped with the nurturing aspect of her childhood, along with some other women in the clan, but she bonded with Me-rie the most from them all as well :)
As StarSpell got to know the dragons here and found her place within & worked to get her powers under control, she was also interested in the aspect of finding love & perhaps having someone to be wed with. She entertained the idea from time to time, and fantasized about it in the time she had to herself, but as she got older, the longing grew more and she wished to have a partner all the more. Time went on but as the dragons came and went, none of them really caught her eye as much as an oddball Fae who liked to spend his time living in trees like the Faes of olden times rather than inside the comfort of the halls of the lair. She asked around to try to find out about him and from what she gathered, she was told he preferred that lifestyle, and because of it, everyone thought he was weird and had been single practically since the early days of the clan. This made the Spiral sad upon hearing that, and she became determined to change that because for some reason, she found that her heart was hung up on him. So to find out why he did the things he did, she began following him around but just got squawked at.. But when she squawked back, a relationship of sorts began to form, and she found that he could speak in normal dragon tongue, but that he preferred the language of the birds. After a time, she learned it so she could understand him better, and after that, she found herself falling in love with the weird bird-dragon, as those in the clan dubbed him. Shortly following this, the pair became inseparable, and anywhere she went, the Fae was sure to follow-- clinging to her now, instead of clinging to trees like he used to. :)
(talk about bonding with Nebula, the Crystalspine Gem Gaurdian, and understands them and feels like they have a connection since they both come from the same place)


StarSpell is the clan's Arcane Representative and the other Clan Mage! Hailing from the Starwood Strand (correct me if I'm wrong XD) and the realm of the Arcanist, she works to show the dragons of the clan what being an Arcane dragon is all about :)
