B I R T H
It was a grand day when Shift was born. The Cult, still small in numbers and influence. With only seven members within it and the bonds just beginning. On that day, Juliet, Syph, and Stellation remained at the homebase of the Cult, while the rest had gone out for supplies, goods, and recruiting new members. The doctor and therapist of the Cult had mated a week ago, resulting in a single Arcane Egg. The founder and leader of the Cult had already felt how strong the hatchling would be, the egg's shell was nearly black and speckled by clusters of stars as the arcane rings around it pulsed like a never-ending heartbeat. Yes, this hatchling would be strong. If Juliet is lucky, the hatchling could be another Multi-Gaze and possible heir to the Cult. But instead, Juliet faced the shock of his life when the hatchling finally emerged from the shell, with neon pink marks on his face as his vibrant eyes showered down sparkling clouds of stardust onto his cheeks that were like the night. A Primal! A Primal has finally been born! Both Stellation and Syph were astounded to have birth a hatchling with Primal Eyes. When they had first entered the Cult, they had doubted its teachings and goals. Thinking the Cult would not last for long and fall down like how most trends do. But now, the two seem to be reconsidering with how much power they could feel from their hatchling as he crawled out of the pitch black shell that has lost its glimmer, seemingly transferred to the hatchling instead. Stellation gently picked up the chirping newborn, holding the hatchling close to his chest. The therapist could already feel his hands becoming nearly numbed by how much the hatchling's energy thrummed. Yet, Stellation didn't let go, instead cradling him with a soothing melody. A melody that Stellation could not recall where he had heard it, but still shares it to the Cult. Carefully, Juliet interrupts the melody, "What shall his name be?" The doctor and therapist looked into one another, before Syph covered their faces with her large wings to whisper what shall be the name of their hatchling. Minutes passed, and the wing was removed. "Shift. He shall be named, Shift." |

P E R S O N A L I T Y
Shift is easily one of the most optimistic and upbeat dragon in the entire Cult. He tries to help the other Cultist often, be it from heavy lifting, finding lost items, or even just for a walk around the beaches; Shift will be there with an outstretched hand and a kind smile. He finds it his duty to ensure that every member is happy and content in the Cult. After all, Shift was taught by Juliet that his powers should not be also used for his own gain, but for others as well. However, this behaviour has lead to him overworking himself and can be overbearing at times, especially to the other Primals and his children. Since he is a Skydancer, Shift is kind of therapist of the Cult. Usually an assistant to Stellation and would temporarily fill the position if his father is out of commission. Though Shift is not as good as his father, mostly studying and practicing his Arcane Magic instead due to his role as the Arcane Primal of the Cult. He is also known for his ravenous appetite for knowledge, which is fitting for his Element. Has hundreds upon hundreds of scrolls, books, and crystals scattered around his messy room, which thankfully doesn't smell. Shift's collection grows even more when he finally learned how to make small pocket dimensions. His careful with said dimensions however, since they have a tendency to disappear and take his beloved collections with it. Learned it the hard way when all of the presents for his Eldest Daughter, Abyss, disappeared in the pocket dimension that they were in. All in all, Shift seemed like a nice dragon. A bit overbearing, but nice. He is, but still has a darker side to him like all of us do. Not a lot of dragons notice, but Shift has an arrogance that nearly borders on a God Complex. He was taught to be a being that is close, if not a physical deity that has come to Sornieth and lead others to the right path, all because he was born with Primal Eyes. Shift wants, no craves to be the center of attention at all times, and may even become a bit upset if it were taken from him. While he doesn't mean or is aware of it, Shift's Children feel pressured due to their parent's rank in the Cult. Especially Abyss, who feels incredibly insecure about her eyes and often, throws herself to hunting to make up for it. Not many dragons notice Shift's arrogance, often thinking it's just him wanting to be helpful instead of seeking something that would inflate his ego even more so. Tides however notices it, and often tries to humble it down with varying degrees of success. |

The Exchange
As a sign of good faith, Shift had been a part of a foreign exchange program. Back home, a young heir of Tiabeanie who was desperate to stretch her wings was taking his place. Just for the day. This had, apparently, been the only way to coax her father into letting her go.
•
Worried whispers greeted him as he stepped foot into the Butterfly Gardens for the first time. The loudest being Prince Tiabeabie himself. The Prince was worried about his daughter, the first of his hatchlings to leave the nest. The entire menagerie of royals were hanging onto every word that dripped out of Shift's mouth like flies to honey. Frankly, it was uncomfortable.
•
But he assured her safety and eased them with gentle explanations of his home. A few of the royals even understood his cultish ways. An older girl, Tina, was especially excited about his bookish ways. She hasn't gotten far but likened herself to be the historian of the family
•
There were a few moments of butting egos with Prince Tiabeanie, but for the most part, it was a very pleasant experience. He visited with the whole clan, even met a few outsiders who were staying for a short time, like he was
•
Shift also discovered that despite being served quaint meals on delicate platters, it was the King and Queen themselves who hunted down dinner for their children and grandchildren. They were powerful warriors, who invited him along, despite them being almost close to his level
•
The day was short, but the dawn was beautiful. Before he left, he witnessed the hatching of three nests, two belonging to his fellow strangers. It was a beautiful sight to behold, the stars still twinkling as the whispers of sunlight started to color the far horizon
•
By the time he was leaving, he felt a little attached to the royal family. This had been a nice, relaxing experience. No one regarded him as God, but they still respected him greatly. No one expected he shoulder some burdens, but gladly took the help when he offered. Queen Angelite even taught him some of the good luck rituals that she had learned when she was the foreign princess of the land. And for his goodbye gifts, the Prince had offered some shiny trinkets, and the Crowns had hefted him lovingly handcrafted jerky they had made out of the leftovers of the beasts he'd killed. Maybe one day he'd come back, for that wonderful little royal cluster
