A son of Midnight and a grandson of Sharp, it is no big shock that Dismal has been drawn to the thrill of battle since the beginning. He is a large dragon, but understands that he can be intimidating, and he uses this to his advantage. Despite his fearsome appearance, he tends to be one of the least serious members of the clan. Friends, foes, and strangers alike are all subject to his usually-harmless pranks.

Dismal’s mother, Midnight, was pleasantly surprised when she and Dark’s nest of three eggs hatched three healthy, strong, children. Two were large Guardians like Midnight herself, the third a smaller Wildclaw. The two Guardians she named Marauder and Dismal, and the Wildclaw she named Ghostlight. She swore that she would raise them to be warriors, fighters like her.

When the mysterious Viotto family made themselves known to the clan, one of the youngest Viottos caught the up-and-coming tactician’s eye. Dagger, he was called, and he seemed to return the interest.
