Lore

. "Aha," Camden declared, "Truly a master of stealth to find me without my notice! Fair maiden, would you honor me with your name?"

Tilting her head, the pale Imperial eyed him with the cattiest of smiles. The glint of her abnormally long canines did not escape notice. "You can call me Adrianne. My full name is a mouthful for outsiders like you."

"Pish posh," he said, "A gentleman such as myself should be able to speak a lovely lady's name to the fullest!"

A laugh rang in his ears. It was stunning. His heart pounded in his throat. A surprise to him. Never had he felt such a response in the presence of another dragon. Maybe...he was afraid? He eyed her fangs. Oh Gladekeeper, those fangs were abnormally long.

His staring must have got to her. He watched her lips fall and she looked away. A heavy, rhythmic thump was echoing in the corridor. Camden realized that it was her tail. He urged with a soft whisper, "Your full name, fair one?"

"Acri Cruento'Dens Adrianne."

The way she said it made Camden almost want to run. He didn't understand the name but there was a sort of shame in her tone. He parroted, "Acri Cruento'Dens Adrianne... What does it mean?"

Adrianne shook her head. "Sharp Bloody Fang. I am a vampire."

"A vampire? Truly," he asked. He thought vampires were supposed to be ugly, and of the plague flight. "Well then my dearest, you are by all means the fairest! Why do you hang your head so low? Stand up tall! I can't bear to see you looking so distraught."

Adrianne eyed him. Those beautiful eyes were so piercing and looked like they could peer into his soul. Need he admit that he was spellbound?

She then smiled and a laugh erupted from her. "Haha, you're a funny one! You talk like my father somewhat. That accent."

"And there she smite me," he moaned, "To be father-zoned so callously! Ouch my lady! Ouch!"

Adrianne's smile did not leave. "I wouldn't be worried about that. I'm probably older than you. You look so fresh and new, like a hatchling."

His head fell. He couldn't help but stare at the ground. To be father-zoned and then suddenly called a hatchling. He was a full grown adult! It wasn't his fault she was one of the tallest species on Sornieth. "Now you're just pulling my tail."

"Listen," said Adrianne, "Outsiders aren't supposed to be here. You're lucky that I found you instead of one of...them..."

"Them," he asked, "Them who?"

Adrianne hissed, "The Angels...Oh if you'd have disturbed Mollis'Somnus' sleep...!"

Camden did not like the shiver that made her entire body tremble. There were dragons here that could make a vampire shiver? What horrors lied in wait then? "Erm, well perhaps I should take that as my cue to depart!"

A whimper came from her, "Wait, you're leaving?"

That threw him off guard. "Yes? Didn't you just say that there were horrible monsters living here?"

"Well," she said, "Yes I did. But...judging by the patches in your tunic you don't have the best living situation. You also smell like open air and dirt, like you've been camping for a long time. Why don't you just become part of the clan?"

"Become part-my lady," he said, "I'm a thief! A gentleman thief yes, but to blatantly invite a wolf amidst the sheep!"

Adrianne tilted her head. "Even wolves need a soft den to rest their head, a pack to snuggle with..."

Maybe not my best analogy, reflected Camden. "Would the rest of your clan accept me?"

"When the Patriarch says yes," answered Adrianne, "None say no."

"Something about that sounds very unnerving," said Camden.

"Come on," crowed Adrianne. She rushed him and bundled him before shoving him before her in an ungraceful heap.

His jaw ached from striking the crystal floor. "Ouch," he whined, "No need to be so rough! I'll become a part of this clan...I needed a place to leave my treasure anyway..."

Adrianne hoisted him to his paws. Before he knew it, he was harried toward the upper levels of the giant structure. The air inside was as it was down below, stagnant and heavy. There was something very dark about this shining crystal palace, as if a miasma gripped it. Before he knew it, Camden was standing before the likely source.

A dark Skydancer loomed in the mouth of a hall that spiraled upward into the unknown. His eyes were hidden by a hideous mask covered by a dark hood and the fabrics around his wings rustled menacingly. "Why have you asked your mother to summon me, Adrianne? This better be important."

Camden felt Adrianne bow deeply beside him. He dare not take his eyes off the male Skydancer. He felt like a wolf that just met a bear.

"I wish to petition you for this dragon to join our clan," answered Adrianne, "Patriarch Tenebris'Cor."

Tenebris'Cor snorted, "What could such a twiggy Skydancer have to offer this clan?"

Camden felt himself bristle. Twiggy?! How about that Tenebris'Cor fellow look in the mirror!

"He is light on his paws," said Adrianne, "With Tropicae'Ventus long asleep, we haven't replaced her for scouting! He is well traveled and would serve as an excellent scout!"

A harsh click echoed from the eerie mask. "He looks like a thief."

Adrianne brightened, "So much the better! Our clan always needs more treasure! He can procure it while he scouts!"

Silence fell over the cavern like a blanket. Camden felt the cold stare and hostility coming from Tenebris'Cor. Camden wanted to hide so badly but his new found friend seemed so calm. Maybe it was a good sign?

Tenebris'Cor broke the silence, "Fine. Find him a hollow. He will be called Aevitas'Hiems, to honor the snowy hue of his scales. You are now part of Sanguinem Luna Clan."

The Pantheon Age
Aevitas'Hiems Camden was not hatched during this bygone age.

The New Age
Aevitas'Hiems Camden was hatched in the modern ages to a clan that had too many mouths to feed. It was a common enough story. He was abandoned in an alley in the Sunbeam Ruins, perhaps his parents thought that he would find a nice good Light Flight clan that would take him in.
Oh how they were wrong.
He met a gang of Shadow Flight dragons that were trying to survive by making trouble in the Lightbringer's domain. This gang became the closest thing he had to a family. He learned everything he could from them: how to fool with sleight of paw, how to pick locks, how to walk without making a sound. He learned it all and excelled. His skill quickly saw him rising in the ranks and granted him more and more authority in the gang.
However all good things must end.
The servants of the Lightbringer finally hunted down the nest of the gang. Camden ran and didn't look back. He was the greatest runner after all and was still small enough to hide from the fearsome Imperials that secured his old friends.
He traveled and he stole to support himself. It was easier to do when he was on the move. However that also meant that he spent a great deal of nights sleeping in some abandoned den or the like with only bugs for company, which in the end are simply delicious. There was a loneliness that dragged on him though. He missed the gang, often wondering if they were even alive. Time had an uncanny way of dulling the pain though and as the years continued he was accustomed to being on his own.
His loneliness did not abate though and thus, he would charm his way into the good graces of wealthy dragons. When he was close enough, he would take his chance. No sword or blade, no; he was a gentleman. He would rob them blind and leave them reeling in shock, but they would have their lives. Killing was so basic after all and not the qualities of a gentleman thief. No dragon has ever died to his claws and he was not about to start.
He prided himself on his abilities, and his reputation grew. Not even the most fearsome Gaolers could catch him. He was amassing so much treasure that it was starting to drag his movements down. That was when he decided that he would do one more heist, then retire.
He heard of Sanguinem Luna Clan, a mysterious group of dragons that lived in the heart of the Arcane territories. It was said that their lair was an entire crystal spire from the Crystalspine Reaches and that they could rip it up by its roots to teleport it somewhere else. Surely a lair like that had riches to be taken, piles and piles of treasures!
It was the best and foolhardiest decision he ever made.
Nowadays he spends his time with his mate Adrianne or out in other lands to secure goods and valuables for the clan. More often than not he also does scouting for the clan too. His relationship with his mate is playful and he wouldn't change it for the world. He loves to sneak up on his mate while she is sleeping and whisper sweet nothings into her ear. He also loves to see his newest acquisitions decorating her lovely face.
Truly such a life was perfect for an extraordinary thief like himself!

The Bluefin Charger that follows Aevitas'Hiems Camden came to him when he joined Sanguinem Luna Clan. He didn't understand why but he wasn't about to turn away such a mellow and sometimes downright affectionate companion. She is quiet too, which is important. He takes his familiar with him when he goes out to secure valuables for Sanguinem Luna Clan.

Mister Aevitas'Hiems Camden,

May I call you Aevitas'Hiems Camden?

I just want to know do you ever have plans on robing from Sanguinem Luna Clan?
Don't worry. I won't tell on you.

A sharp gasp erupted from Aevitas’Hiems Camden’s maw. His jaw dropped and his right forepaw reached up to his chest.

“Rob from...! Rob from...! I’ll have you know that I am a gentleman thief! Not some common urchin who will steal everything he claps eyes on! I have standards!”

He lifted a foreclaw as if he were pointing. “I am in the good graces of a mighty clan that protects me and my substantial hoard. Why in the name of the Gods would I ruin such a good situation?”

He lowered his paw and followed with a wink. “By the by, just call me Camden.”
