Gaothach

Once blinded, Gaothach wandered the world in search of the feel of the earth that had haunted his most peaceful dreams. The only thing he’d ever seen, the fields of red earth in his sleep under a blood red sky, Gaothach had no chance of finding it by sight. As his bones and muscles gave out from days and weeks of travelling on foot after the place that appeared to him in his kindest dreams, a vision struck him: a hulking tower of bone and stone that curled into that blood red sky. The spiral saw in death a vision most kind, of a new sort of family, concerned for his health.

When he awoke, Gaothach learned it was not in death at all he’d been given that vision most kind. Surrounded by the denizens of Flayer’s Rock, having been nursed back to health by Lynx, Gaothach could see for the first time in his life. The scales had fallen from his eyes, having travelled and explored far and wide by touch alone, a curse of the Plaguebringer’s own making lifted for his display of fortitude and dedication. He dedicated himself to a new task: to protect Flayer’s Rock, its lord, and its people; and to train Coil, who he knows will replace him when he one day dies.
