Biography

"This Wildclaw leads a pack of wild-eyed dragons in a prayer, their ritualistic dancing matching the tune of their frenzied chants. There’s an odd glint in her eyes, something akin to maniacal delight." ━━ Personality ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Bones were always a big part of Decrescendp’s survival. She collects them, hoards them, but not always for the same reasons. Most of the time it is the preservation of trophies from several dangerous hunts or foes. Other times it is for the sake of medicine or experimentation. Her favorite reason to collect bones is to carve them. Intricate patterns and carvings done in bones adorn her lairs, telling tales of her own stories or of the Mother’s greatness. The appearance of her lairs is not the only thing Decrescendo takes pride in. Her own appearance is one she takes pains to cultivate. Bones, feathers, jewels, and trophies decorate her entire body and hide her most recent wounds. If someone was looking for Decrescendo’s favor, complimenting her appearance would be a good starting place. Being a High Priestess of a deity means a dragon must be devoted to said deity. Decrescendo, of course, takes this one step further. She’s considered to be one of the most puritanical followers of the Plaguebringer; she'll risk everything to ensure the Mother survives, refusing to allow things such as pesky minor gods or troublesome heroes risk that survival. If anything that threatens the Mother’s survival encounters Decrescendo, she’s quick to tear it down to extinction, even if it is an unreasonable strong foe. Decrescendo firmly believes in survival of the fittest. If you can’t adapt and become stronger in response to danger, you’re beneath her attention and help. She’s quick to praise those that have proven they can adapt, but equally quick to scorn those that don’t. ━━ Biography ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Born and raised in the Wandering Contagion, Decrescendo is affiliated with all manner of disease. Blisters, boils, rot cling to her skin and feathers. Despite this she never thought to abandon the Mother’s calling, if anything she thought this would only prove her strength. As soon as she was old enough Decrescendo made the hazardous, lonely trek through the Abiding Boneyard to Rotrock Rim. Here she fought her way to becoming one of the Mother’s High Priestesses and exalted followers, though she never became one of the exalted. Nobody is quite sure why Decrescendo decided to settle in the Sanctuary nor why she founded the Rabidcrest Banes. Other than having an entire pack of dragons to command there was no reason for her to attempt to help the almost insane dragons that form the Banes. Despite this she did and now does help them keep their more violent tendencies in check. Decrescendo consistently challenges their abilities to improve how well they’re able to survive and defend themselves, as well as test their self control. This, combined with the influence of other Rabidcrest Bane matriarchs, allows them to live more or less normal lives as citizens of the Sanctuary. Once a year, during the festivities that celebrate her flight, Decrescendo travels with a select group of Rabidcrest Banes (Mostly the other matriarchs) to visit her home territory. It is here, in either the Wandering Contagion or Abiding Boneyard, where they survive for a week on their own. During this time they survive and scavenge off the land in between celebrations for the Plaguemother. At the end of the week they travel to Hellwell Undercroft to mingle with the other clans before returning to the Sanctuary for the rest of the year. ━━ Notes ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ - Decrescendo's familiar is always a representative of the Mother. Most often it is a Deadland Disciple. - Decrescendo's favorite snack to remind her of home is the Yellow Canary. While in the Scarred Wasteland though, she allows them to live as an early warning system.

Whether the devout followers of the Plaguebringer are partaking in religion or in a cult is subject to opinion, but whichever way you lean, Decrescendo is clearly one of the best (worst?) of the flight.
A priestess, Decrescendo--or "Cress" among a circle of dragons who tolerate her--is the embodiment of a Plague dragon. She's a survivor, a scavenger, doing what she can to keep the spirit of the flight alive even as blisters and boils and rot cling to her skin and feathers. She collects bones, sometimes for the sake of preservation, sometimes for the sake of medicine, and depending on who you are and what you've done, she may very well take yours out for a look. It matters little if you're dead or alive when she does, but she's found the living have a slight tendency to struggle. No matter.
Once a year, during the festivities in celebration of her flight, Decrescendo will travel with a band of Wildclaws to visit her home territory. There, they survive for a week on their own, camped out and falling into their own pack dynamic as they scavenge the land and celebrate.
There are other deities out in the world beyond the main pantheon you all know. Its common knowledge in many places, and it would make sense that some of these minor gods and goddesses affiliate themselves with Plague, rot, disease, and the likes. Decrescendo, however, refuses to acknowledge them; they are false gods, they are weak, they'll succumb to their burdens. They are not Mother, and they will not live to surpass her.
She'll make sure of it.
