________________________________________________________ Venali was born in the shadow of his brother, King Venatu. Destined for the life of a Prince, never to see the throne, Venali grew up with a deep-seated jealousy toward his brother and his family. The young Imperial felt it imperative that he became more than just another forgettable Prince. Venali began to train in the Mage Academy when his aptitude for magic became apparent as an adolescent. He was a slow start, but fiercely determined. He had always been interested in the magical arts, studying scroll after scroll of its functions and capabilities, and knew that if could master magic, he would finally have power in his life. The Prince's life became centered around the Mage Academy and he began to teach in his adulthood. The Academy anointed him Grand Ice Mage of the Mage Council, where he served for many years. And when it came time for the High Mage to step down from the Council, Venali was in the running for election. It was a tight decision, but the Mage Council elected Venali as its representative. For Venali to take on his position of High Mage he would have to relinquish his title and responsibility as Prince. He could no longer have the throne, even if it fell to him. This was a painful decision for the Imperial, but nonetheless he went forward with his choice, determined to start a new life for himself outside his family's shadow. After this Venali detached even further from his family, hardly associating himself with his brother or mother, to their dismay. He has stayed distant since. |

Venali has always been a fan of unique insects and the generally "less desirable" creatures of Sornieth. Venali discovered Xantier as only a scorpling, separated from his mother. The Prince took him in and they've been lifelong companions since. Xantier enjoys exploring, nighttime hunting, and burying himself in the sandy cliff sides on a hot day. |
