WINDIR

Windir is a dragon who was imprisoned without trial during ancient times, and locked in the Fortress of Ends to serve an indefinite sentence. They spent their eons locked behind bars constructed of ice, while shackled to the frozen floor, with no hope of reprieve. During those countless years, they had focused all their energy on collecting and growing Ice magic inside their body. One day, now an inexplicably long time ago, a loud blast rumbled through the Fortress. Windir had attempted to use their accrued magic to escape, but against their plan, the force of the magical explosion had killed them. But strangely enough, they were not quite dead. Windir's eyes now glowed a blinding white, and they drifted in the air with no help of their wings. Strange runes from a language long forgotten were permanently emblazoned upon their flank, and their limbs destroyed by the explosion had been replaced with limbs fashioned of snow and ice. It seemed as if the Ice magic they had been gathering had transformed them into something else entirely. Windir weaved through the hole in the crumbed ice they had created, and into the night. Long having forgotten their name and identity, the name Windir was coined by natives to the region, who rumor of their existence.
