B I O G R A P H Y

Rye Whiskey

______Twice as wide and thrice as strong as the average dragon, Glyph is Fort Moonkeep's jolly gatekeeper, officially. Unofficially, he is also a cellarkeeper, handyman, and the resident accordion player - and a good old-fashioned scoundrel to boot. Whether or not you ask, he'll take any opportunity to tell you about his younger and more dashing seasons, when he made trouble sailing the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Nobody's ever heard him confess to being a pirate, but, well. If the shoe fits.

His jokes are off-color and some of his tattoos are best kept covered in polite company, but Glyph's heart is gold and his judgement of character impeccable. Moonkeep's gatekeeper is the first to meet newcomers and one of the first lines of defense against unsavory types, and Glyph's opinion of strangers is taken very seriously by the Nightmother: if he doesn't want someone to make it past the gatehouse, they're not invited past the gatehouse. Not that anyone could fit through the door anyway, with Glyph standing in it.

It's with great cheer that Del, Scripture, and Beth have been dubbed Glyph's 'crew,' and the combined efforts of the four of them keep Moonkeep's exterior in ship shape and its orchards and gardens prosperous with plunder. He is good friends with Mary, and when he and Amaris reach a certian mutual point of drink-sodden saturation they are an unstoppable combined force of bawdy singing, competitive card games, and stories the hatchlings are not invited to hear. It's fine. They keep it contained to the after-hours. Usually.
