A jumping off point...

Eldest of her three sisters, Camellia is known for taking great pride in her appearance. Some may go so far as to call her vain, but she would disagree; "there is no vanity in appreciating one's own beauty."

She was born a tundra, born of an Ice clan but raised on the shifting expanse. Given the name 'Melasune', she lived there for many years, even mothering a clutch of eggs with a handsome Coatl. But something nagged at her, a feeling of incompleteness that neither lover nor hatchlings quite filled. She sought change, first employing potions to change her coat patterns, then powerful magic to become a Coatl. She discovered a deep love for beauty, but still didn't feel whole. No matter what silks or jewels she draped herself in, nothing could fill the strange void.

Eventually, her hatchlings moved to other clans and her lover left to serve the Lightweaver. 'Melasune' was left alone. She missed her children and her mate, but in her heart she knew it wasn't them she longed for. She decided it was time for a fresh start. She took the name Camellia, representing the beautiful flower she saw in herself, and set out to tour Sornieth.

It was over a year of travel before she reached the Viridian Labyrinth. Something tugged at her and she stayed there, searching clan to clan with the aid of local dragons to help her navigate the sometimes endless forest. Eventually, she came upon the small clearing where Peony lived with her rabbits. When she first laid eyes upon the small Coatl, up to her elbows in soil, humming happily as she gardened, bunnies hopping about her nibbling at the plants, something clicked. Camellia felt as though something had poured into the deep hole inside her. It wasn't completely full, but the relief was incredible even so. She introduced herself to Peony and asked if she might stay there with her for a time. The two adopted each other as sisters before long, and Camellia realized that she needed no man, no child, no fancy jewels. Nothing but the companionship of her sister. "Not there there's any need to give up my jewellery" she appended, telling Peony about it "I do look so stunning after all."

It was Camellia who led herself and Peony to find Dahlia, when her egg was lost in the forest. When the egg hatched and she held the newborn, the final part of that strange void filled to brimming, and the normally imperious and unemotional Camellia knelt on the ground and wept from happiness.

Although she once considered herself to be the leader, a role which both sisters accepted happily, Camellia has since discovered that others are more inclined to follow Peony, herself included. She has taken on the role of managing the acquisition of apparel, as well as managing any decorating that may been do be done about the lair. If you ask very nicely, she might even help with sewing, or applying her beautiful embroidery.

Camellia was as surprised as anyone to find that she had fallen deeply in love with a new member of the clan, Hydrangea. The two had permanently mated, something Camellia swore she would never do again. For the first time, there was someone Camellia saw as being just as beautiful as herself, and for once it's equally due to what was on the inside.

Here we are and life's still going...

There was a point in time where Camilla had found true happiness, her time with her sisters and second lover. Her life as a tundra hadn't even been dull and she had no real reason to complain about those parts of her life. She had fallen in love twice, had a family she cherished and knew what it was like to be loved in return. Romantically or plutonically didn't matter to her. As long as it was honest true, was all that mattered.

However, one by one everyone left. Her sisters, her kids and even her second husband. In truth, it hurt. None of them left on bad terms, in fact Hydrangea and her self had bid each other the best and went their separate was the same day. It would be a lie to say she wasn't still in love with him. However, it seems people just got bored of their routine life. Peony, being the leader, was the only one who remain at their old home by the time all was said and done.

"That's life." Camille replied to one of her former clan mates during the final days of her stay at that clan. Out of everything she felt, the slow departure of everyone she held dear helped her realize what her constant longing had returned. Only now, she understood the feeling a bit better. She didn't enjoy being tied down, kept in the same place for too long. Her soul needed to constantly wander in order to be at ease. To see new things to keep boredom away.

To see the sunset on rolling mountains, be swept into the freedom of wind in a wide open meadow. Meet new faces on a constant basis, get to know their stories and learn from them. Maybe help them design something for someone, themselves or their home. Making the world a more beautiful place by making those in it just a little happier.

That's what she's been doing since she left the sky loving tree huts of her last clan. Beautiful as it could be, her work was done there and she felt confident she could leave on a high note. Fashion and interior design remaining her passion, her pride and vanity mostly intact. Now practicing bouquet design and such, content at attempting to expand her abilities.
