Despite his discomfort with Pearlcatchers like Serezha, he does his best to be unbiased and civil to all, but he definitely doesn't get along with Serezha's daughter Serenity or consider her a fit candidate for leadership, and Serenity hates him right back. One other subject where he differs from clan tradition is on the matter of his fellow Imperials. He can understand why they allowed so many Imperials to cluster together - they were a Nature clan, unfamiliar with Light traditions, and it had been countless years since the world had seen an Emperor. But all of that has changed now, and with Luminax still uncontained within easy reach of their own home, the other Imperials of the clan have to see the wisdom of dispersing, living at some remove from each other, for the protection of themselves and all those around them. And by "have to" he means "he won't stop until they do," but he's finding his campaign frustratingly slow going.
