Biography

Small Art Here
The thief of memories, the name is heard around Sornieth, scaring any pearlcatcher that hears the name. The thief's true name is unknown, but their intentions have been made clear: stealing pearls.

The thief of memories' true name is Speranza. She always stole other dragon's pearls since she was a hatchling. Her memories were treasured by her, but she always wanted more memories without leaving the Ashfall Waste.

Her journey of stealing all began when she heard of travelers wandering around Sornieth. Speranza was inspired, believing those dragons to have many pleasant memories. At first, she was happy for those dragons, but that admiration soon turned to jealousy.

Speranza learned that a pearlcatcher's pearl contained the dragon's memories. This information piqued her interest, giving her the idea to steal other dragon's pearls. Speranza decided her father would be the perfect first target.

Speranza began thinking about how she would steal Navale's pearl, as every he was always holding it. She decided it would be best to trick him into thinking he was holding the pearl by using a different circular object. After searching through the clan's chest of items, she found a haunted stone orb. The orb didn't feel exactly like a pearl, but it would do the trick.

With the haunted stone orb in hand, Speranza went to her father. Her plan was to trip into him, make him drop his pearl, and give him the orb, claiming it to be his pearl. She hoped he would accept it without a thought and she could simply grab the pearl and experience his life from the beginning to the present.

She decided to execute everything she planned. She grabbed multiple books and walked towards Navale. "Dad, where should I put these bo-" she said before falling into Navale.

The books scattered across the floor, a few hitting Navale's head causing him to drop his pearl. Once he noticed this, he immediately tried to grab it once again. Speranza placed the haunted orb in front of his claws, which he mistook for the pearl.

With her plan being a success, Speranza grabbed her father's pearl. Memories began flooding through her head. She looked through the memories, looking for one with a lot of emotional energy. After searching for a while, she found a memory that had something to do with another female pearlcatcher. Speranza thought she saw that dragon in a picture before, but never in person. She ignored that memory and continued searching.

Speranza eventually found a memory that she deemed important enough to divulge into. A memory that had to do with her strange brother Aldilu. She went through the entirety of the memory, learning about her brother's past.

The Aldilu in Navale's memories seemed completely different. Speranza noticed that he acted, dressed and even spoke differently. It made her begin to question who her strange brother really was. After seeing all those memories had to offer, Speranza tried to access more memories.

However, sounds of screaming cut her journey short. Speranza stopped viewing her father's memories and saw him on the ground, screaming due to his missing pearl. She quickly returned the pearl to her father's hands and ran away from him.

Navale was given treatment by the clan's medic, almost forgetting who he was put him in a temporary of shock. Speranza felt bad for what she did to her father, but her desire to see more memories engulfed the feeling of regret. She decided to lay low for a short while, and steal another pearl when nobody expected it.

While waiting for her next victim to show their face, Speranza made an outfit to wear when she went to steal pearls. She called herself the "Thief of Memories". She acted like a normal dragon looking for new clothes when she searched for her thievery getup. Once she had the clothes ready, she put on a mask to hide her identity.

Speranza has since learned how to successfully steal memories from other pearlcatchers without driving them insane. She has experienced many experiences she never would have seen without her thievery. This has caused the Thief of Memories to become known across Sornieth.
