Zeus had the power of Wind in his blood and Lightning in his claws; no city cops would have a hope in the depths of the Shade of catching him, but they certainly did try. Of course he was over the border into the Ashfalls well before they so much as ended up winded. He wasn’t just hopping the territory lines to escape from the consequences of his job. The crew had robbed many a magician over the years and as a result had quite the collection of magical artifacts, including some very accurate tools for predicting the future. Thanks to that they knew that a new and very important crewmate had been born among the lava flows in the east. As the fastest and one of the most trusted members of the crew, Zeus was set to retrieve her. Best to get her quickly rather than waiting and hoping the future would never change. His waystone guided him north near to the territory of his own birth to his target’s clan. Moving in under the cover of night, silent as an owl, he scooped up the newly hatched Ridgeback he’d come for and swiftly made his way back to the sands of the Expanse where one day the little hatchling would fulfill her mighty destiny.
