Once there was a plant that grew high upon the cliffside of the Mirrorlight Promenade. A humble Alstroemeria, eagerly reaching out for the Light of the sun. It's seed pod had fallen into a crack upon the cliff. There its roots had found cool and moist soil for its beginning. But to thrive, it needed light. The busy dragons took no notice of the tiny plant, they were so caught up with their own lives. The scholars who studied in the name of the Lightweaver had no time for flowers. Had the seedpod not fallen to it's cradled terrace, they would have likely trampled the tender young leaves in their haste. Unseen and unnoticed by the dragons, the Alstromeria offered up it's first blossom to the Lightweaver. The flower bloomed for a fortnight, then began to wither. Just as it was to fall from its stem, the Lightweaver appeared, collecting the fragile and wilting flowers. With a breath of her great magics, the petals became wings. The voice of the Lightweaver echoed in the newly formed mind of the little dragoness. "Tend to your kin. The overlooked, the tender forgotten ones. Help them Branch into the Light" And so the flower became a dragon, and the dragon became the first leader of the Golden Grove. |
