Biography

1088.png1083.png1082.png

Noelani is an occasional visitor of the Icefield, aloof but harmless and mildly interesting to the dragons of Vulstalridge. She seems to think the same of them. They don't talk very much, but now and again they will trade stories and information, and updates on Sornieth's latest happenings.

She is sometimes seen with her mate Anwar, and their child Anjali.

(Note: Noelani and her family are featured in Holiday Hall during the months of the Crystaline Gala, the Wavecrest Saturnalia, and the Thundercrack Carnivale!)

{Default familiar is an Orbiting Spirit}

Aon Dragons (nicknamed Tundracorns) are a personal project of mine and Sunleap's. They are literal special snowflakes and I indulge wholeheartedly in this aesthetic.

Supposedly in the early days of Sornieth's final age, the first few clashes with the neighboring flights led to several ice territories being splintered from the mainland in the chaos and lost at sea. The tundras couldn't fly back home, as it was winter and their wings were weighed down by their protective coats. By the time spring returned, they had completely lost their bearings and had no choice but to survive on their lone landmass. Far from the deities, the tundras and their children were instead fed elemental magic through the waves that crashed against their shore. This particular stretch of the sea was a naturally occurring reservoir of leftover chaotic energy from the three main gods who maintained the water cycle. This had unforeseen effects on any dragons living in this crossroads of magic, and the tundras thus began to experience incredible changes.

Many years have passed since then, but in the last few centuries, these self-named Aon Dragons have begun to wander Sornieth again. Learning more about the world, observing quietly, and sometimes-- though not always-- lecturing their distant brothers and sisters on their own strange ways and beliefs.

About Aon Dragons
  • The standard pelt of an Aon dragon consists of light colored fur (ranging from maize to ice) and a mane and tail that can range from brilliant gold, to shining silver, to a rich bronze.
  • They also often have multiple pairs of growths on their head, a common but not uniform occurence. Extra growths can take the shape of antlers, ram horns, or anything in between.
  • Their feet are more sturdily built than tundra dragons' are-- not quite to the point of being pachyderm shaped, but they are a bit more useful for picking up running speed.
  • Aon dragons do not always have wings.
  • Ice, Water, and Lightning are all possible eye-types for an Aon dragon to have, and they view these as indiscriminate from one another.
  • They have an affinity for water, ice, and storm magic; in other words they hold a natural-born mastery over the whole water cycle regardless of their birth typing.
  • Aons are exceptionally long lived, and may even be immortal.
  • The title they have given themselves means "one," and can refer to a handful of aspects. Their largely solitary nature, their isolated roots, their marked differences from the rest of dragonkind, or their radical religious beliefs concerning the deities of the water cycle.
  • The Aon Dragons believe in the Sornieth pantheon, but do not believe that the gods' mastery of the elements is everlasting. To them, the forces of nature are older and greater than any being. It is their belief that water in its varying forms was never meant to be split among the deities, and that perhaps this is why the tidelord has vanished. To the Aons, one day the waters will have a single master. Either the Stormcatcher, Icewarden, and Tidelord will all be consolidated into one being, or two will fall to leave a single god to rule the seas.
  • ... They're obviously probably wrong but no one's been able to prove them otherwise yet lol. Go forth, my radical unicorns.
  • Aon is the Scottish Gaelic word for one!
