Biography
Name meaning: Tsuki means "moon" in Japanese.
Tsukki came from the Mirrorlight Promenade.
While Skydancers typically use their powers to mediate clan disputes, Tsukki uses them more to start disputes by needling at dragons he particularly dislikes or thinks would be amusing to irritate. He rather enjoys the game of cat and mouse he plays with those he chooses as his prey.
Most of the time, Tsukki can be found by himself instead of socializing with others. His only constant companion is his familiar (Tadashi, named so for his loyalty). This is a combination of his own choice (reading others' energies is exhausting and he likes to be alone) and others giving him a wide berth so as to avoid heckling. Dragons who spend enough time around him tend to think it's ironic how someone so good at detecting emotions in others is so emotionally constipated himself.
Somehow, despite this or possibly because of this, Tsukki ended up finding himself friends with an older Skydancer (Kisumi) and a younger Mirror (Yurio).
Kisumi just decided to be there one day and then he never left. Tsukki is honestly convinced that Kisumi does not understand the concept of "no" because no one could be that persistent without being dense. And then Kisumi dragged Yurio in by the scruff, making them both feel displaced by this absurdly cheerful oddity.
Even though Tsukki is frequently annoyed by both of their enthusiastic energies, he grew to tolerate them and eventually softened up to their presence. Kisumi sometimes treats him like a younger brother and Yurio looks up to him. It's a strange kind of experience for him, but he'll get used to it.
Yurio sees Tsukki as an older brother, but Tsukki refuses to acknowledge this fact.
Tsukki, externally: "stop tagging along all the time, it's annoying"
Tsukki, internally: "conceal, don't feel"
When Asahi and Ikuya arrived in Haven to draw Kisumi's attention away from him, Tsukki found himself feeling relieved and grateful for the peace and quiet... and yet something about it felt inexplicably wrong. It couldn't be that he missed the invasion of his personal space; there had to be another more logical reason. Aside from the fact that Yurio had decided to cope by pouting and grumbling in his general space. Which was indeed quite bothersome.
Kisumi's presence in their lives had been sporadic for a while leading up to the point where he suddenly stopped visiting them altogether. No word, no warning, just silence. It was eerie.
Yurio's firm declaration that he was about to kick down Asahi's and Ikuya's den doors to demand what their intentions were with Kisumi was the final nail in the coffin on the matter. If even Yurio had figured out that Kisumi's weird behavior had to do with his relationship with them, then Tsukki really couldn't ignore it any longer. But first, he had to calm the raging storm before it went on a warpath.
"You better not let Kisumi find out about this plan of yours because he'll never stop teasing you for being jealous and you know it."
With another frustrated grumble, Yurio scratched at the dirt beneath his talons instead. "It's weird! I don't get what he sees in them that makes them so special. But the fact that he hasn't seen us in over a week means he has to be with them, right? Who does that! Claiming to care about him and then not letting him see his friends!"
"You don't know that they're the ones keeping him from pestering us. That could be his choice," Tsukki pointed out.
Yurio let out an angry growl. "Who cares whose choice it is? It's still weird and I want to make sure they're not plotting something."
"Fine. If you're really that concerned, I'll take care of it."
"How?" The skepticism and curiosity both burned in the Mirror's voice.
"By doing two things you're terrible at." Tsukki smirked before delivering the kicker. "Listening and talking."
The affronted look on his companion's face was all the reward he needed for getting involved in this dreadful business.
After all the involuntary games of hide and seek he had played while trying to outrun Kisumi's attention, it didn't take him long to track their missing friend... to a nest. Or what remained of one. It seemed that Kisumi was too preoccupied with the hatchling in his arms to sense Tsukki's presence, but Tsukki got the feeling that the extreme emotional distress emanating from the older Skydancer would have been distraction enough. Quickly putting the pieces together, he decided to slip away unnoticed and seek out the dragons no doubt responsible for the scene he suspected no one was meant to bear witness to.
Predictably, when he found Asahi and Ikuya, they seemed none the wiser about the effect they were clearly having on their friend. Not even a single suspicion clouded their energy.
"You two the ones with the nest back there?" he asked pointedly.
They seemed puzzled at the inquiry from a stranger, but nodded. "Our mate is watching our daughter."
Mate...
"Didn't look that way to me." Tsukki allowed himself to relish in their momentary confusion. "Your daughter is fine, but if I were you I wouldn't be making my mate cry behind my back. That's the kind of thing that gets them thinking about leaving."
Dodging the Mirror's panicked attempt to tackle him for interrogation, Tsukki took flight.
"I'd move quickly before you miss your chance," were his last words before he vanished into the distance.
There. He'd upheld his end of the bargain. Now it was up to those three to work the rest out so Kisumi would stop avoiding everyone and Yurio could quit bugging him. And he sincerely hoped that neither Asahi nor Ikuya would mention he tipped them off or else he'd never hear the end of it from Kisumi for "caring."
It became evident that things had turned out just fine when Kisumi decided it was finally time to introduce his growing family to his "brothers," a term that Tsukki had long since stopped objecting to. The recognition that passed between him and Kisumi's mates was unfortunately not subtle enough to go unnoticed, but his warning glare was at least clear enough to inform them that he could unmake them just as easily as he had helped the first time. So, instead they covered by piling on some cheesy praise about how it was no wonder Kisumi always spoke so proudly about him and Yurio.
