Dawnsblood

For the first part of her life, Shanty played on an airship high in the Cloudsong. Music spun through every day. There were many visitors to the ship as well, some for fun, and some searching for missing objects. It was well known that the clan Ridgebacks were always a good place to check for missing items. It only took a short time before they started asking Shanty if she'd seen their items. Not because she made off with them, but while humming a happy little tune she would always seem to wander in the right direction and stumble over exactly what they needed.

Shanty has a great sense of spontaneity. She is a sweet dragon with a forgiving heart, who always knows just the compliment to soften a heart... usually the heart of someone about to scold her for a spontaneous act that was perhaps a bit reckless.

Winter winds blew on the day Ballast was born. He was secure in the warm hull of an airship, but the icy wind seemed to have gifted him its teeth. As he grew, it was apparent his elemental abilities were touched with an odd cold for a wind dragon. His winds caused frost on the windows. If he went swimming off the coast, everyone else jumped out to get away from the cold bubbles.

Despite the occasional cold breeze inside, Ballast was a great fellow to have around. He had a sense of practical logic and never gave up on anything he set out to accomplish. Despite having adventuresome pirates parents, Ballast had apparently decided to be as steady as his name.
