B I O G R A P H Y

______ If you’re a dragon looking for love, Glade will be more than happy to help! Ever since he was a hatchling, Glade has been a sucker for romance in all its forms, devouring romance novels as soon as he could get his claws on them. Once he reached adolescence, he got to experience romance outside of fiction too, with awkward, lovesick dragons his age flocking to him in droves asking for him to become their wingdragon, simply because of his taste for romance novels. Of course, his first few attempts didn’t quite end well, fiction not translating well to reality, but over time, he learned more about romantic gestures and how they’re received in real life, eventually becoming quite good at getting dragons together. He eventually learned that matchmaking was an actual job, and ended up deciding to become a professional matchmaker when he left the clan. He travelled throughout Sornieth semi-regularly, providing his services to those who requested it, and had multiple partners of his own, though most of them resulted in mutual breakups as Glade wasn’t quite ready to settle down in their clans yet. The only partner of his to stay was Rose, an aspiring teacher who didn’t quite have a clan to call her own yet and was more than willing to travel with him. The two remained in a relationship for years before finally deciding to officially become mates, but both of them are still open to the possibility of another romantic partner and continued to date others, though once again most of them didn’t work out in the long run. The two eventually came across Frostfall Village completely on accident, and decided to settle down temporarily after their curiosity got the better of them. They found themselves getting attached quite quickly and decided to permanently settle down, doing their respective jobs in the village.

______ Glade has been a romantic ever since he read his first romance novel, being completely in love with the very concept of love itself and all its forms, particularly romantic love. The idealised romance in his novels seemed perfect to him, and he often dreamed of finding a mate like that to spend the rest of his days with. However, fiction doesn’t quite translate to reality and the over-ideal relationships depicted in the novels he read made Glade have slightly too high standards, meaning that he himself remained single for a long time. Still, as he started matchmaking and becoming a wingdragon for his friends, his fantasies slowly started to become more realistic, and in the end he was able to distinguish fantasy from reality. He still had a clear vision of what he wanted in a potential mate, but it had been tempered quite a bit from before. This was a big reason why he was able to get into more relationships once he left his clan, finding many more dragons that fit his more achievable standards that he did enjoy spending time with. Even now, he regrets very few of his many relationships, looking back on most of his partners fondly. However, this doesn’t mean he loves Rose any less, and the two enjoy their own version of a romance fit for a novel. Of the mates in the village, Glade has brought together two of them, Laika and Andrei as well as Shen and Lavender. He remains close friends with both couples, and has become an honourary uncle to their children. Now, if only Sonatina would just heed his advice and confess to Mela...
