Musk is a beautifully psychotic leader of a pack. Driven wild by the calls of his lost love, Musk throws himself into taking down and scavenging the endless trains and caravans that attempt to master the Barrens. The Barrens itself is not a nice area. An expansive stretch between the wastelands and Dragonhome, no one stops in the Barrens. Death only waits. Musk fights alongside other crews who rely on the trains. Musk’s crew, the Sandsharks, dominates with their Ashfall expertise. Musk, along with a few others, fled the Ashfall waste during the Magmablood rebellion. Some others were picked up in the Shifting Expanses, where their knack with reworking metal only improved Musk’s rudimentary rigs. Soon some engines commonly seen in metal-factory work were rigged up and speeding across the desert like dune buggies. These individual rigs began developing personalities. Avox’s Warthog is a spiny beast, capable of rolling but willing to take down any other opponent with her. Temper’s Outlaw is small, black and lithe. His wheels are massive, allowing him to fly over the dunes. Musk wouldn’t trust any other rig behind him. Musk’s own rigs, Inferno and Crematory, are two of his favourites ever designed. Crematory was the predecessor to The Beast, so a modified fuel tanker was needed. Crematory always holds stores of water and coal for the other rigs, so he has since been decommissioned from scouting. Musk still likes to show off, with some of Crematory’s modifications providing him an ominous smoke whenever the crew is on the move. Inferno on the other hand, rides hot. One of the fastest rigs in the crew, Musk likes to take Inferno out personally to take on some of the smaller caravans. So far, he’s only had three major crashes, and has managed to walk away from all of them. Artemis says he’s walking luck.

The sky was beautiful the night before she died. She was standing there, feathers illuminated by the glow of the furnace underneath. Musk knew the rumours, but it still seemed like work commenced. Work was commencing for his love too. The Forgemasters had asked for her and her workmate personally to control the bellows. Musk was an ice-born dragon, but his body had adapted to the heat of the furnaces. Down there, only the most intense of dragons could handle the true heat of the Flamecaller. She was nervous and kept wringing her hands. She had asked him, once last time, to flee while they still can. He had hesitated, unsure about the future. The pays had been reduced, and his clan was rationing food, but her clan was happy to take him in as her mate. So he had said no. And he lost her. She said goodbye and left for her shift. The magma had erupted that day, encapsulating her in its heat. The other dragons said she could have been dead from the fumes before the magma would have eaten her, but the pain still seared. The Forgemasters had killed his love. Their oppressive greed stole her from him. He couldn’t even remember her name anymore. They stole her from him. They will pay. He will paint the sands red with the blood of those who conspired against him. He will steal the fruits of the Forgemaster’s labour against them, and use it to create weapons that move faster, survive longer, and rip apart their supplies. And from their supplies he will create his scrapyard kingdom, he and his crew of sharks. For they will pay for their greed and ineptitude, and by the unseeing gods will he make his name known.

ETYMOLOGY - Musk is of Old French origins, and was introduced into England after the famous Norman Conquest of 1066. The derivation is from word mesch meaning man, and was originally a nickname to distinguish a younger person usually a son, from an older bearer of the name. RELATIONS -
