All was still and quite, aside from the buzz of insects and psithurism in the trees. Isabel had been sitting still on a strangely comfortable rock since dawn. Why am I even doing this? she thought. It was now mid-day, and her body was aching, not matter how good her posture, she couldn't shake her crippling back-pain. What was this meant to be? Meruko told her to clear her mind and relax, but she cleared her mind so well she forgot the purpose of this exercise! As she desperately flicked through her memories to find out, her mind began to drift. The once silent greenery seeming burst into motion, Isabel could feeling the life emanating from each leaf, and her soul floated out of her body. She watched as time sped up, and she could see the plants chattering and growing and living. A normal dragon would be horrified at this unnatural experience, but Isabel was mystified. This was entirely natural, she could feel the unity of the forest. Suddenly, a strange and unfamiliar voice rang out through the forest, but echoed in her skull. "Isabel," how did it know her name? "I have watched you, Isabel. Cooranga and Meruko have taught you well, you can really enjoy my works. No simple dragons can, but you admire my- no, our lush growth." She had an epiphany. It was all clear now. The life, the growth, the forest, the inner workings of the Gladekeeper herself. This was the Gladekeeper speaking to her, initiating her as a true dragon of Nature. She knew her purpose now, Isabel was to teach of nature's ways, and defend life, even at the expense of her own. She could see now. It was clear. Isabel is happy now. |

Isabel's life has always been simple. From the day she hatched, to the day she settled in [your clan]. She was the middle child, so she was often ignored and left to her own devices. She spent most of her time with Cooranga, one of Auminthina's elite warriors. She'd been tasked with guarding the hatcheries. Isabel was always eager to listen to her stories and great victories and terrible tragedies on the battlefield. More importantly, her critical position in the defense of the Viridian Labyrinth. Cooranga is a gladebeast, a sub species of wildclaw created by the Gladekeeper herself as a second line of defense in case of the Emperor ever turning it's hungry gaze to her lush forest. It was always Isabel's goal to make an impact, she knew how she would do this. By becoming a priest of Nature. Her parents approved, but Cooranga was the most ecstatic by her decision. She immediately started training Isabel in the traditional ways of Nature Priests. Once she'd come of age, Cooranga took Isabel to the mythical Behemoth. Not only to behold the pinnacle of nature's beauty, but to be bless by the Gladekeeper herself. This way, she'd be fully initiated as a Nature Dragon, a defender of Nature, and vessel of life. At the Behemoth, They met with Cooranga's brother, Meruko. Together, they finished Isabel's training there. Most of her training was spent alone, but not truly alone. She was in the company of the forest, the trees and animals. Through intense meditation, she achieved an enlightened state, Isabel could see every life form, from a mighty oak, to a tiny beetle, and their pulses of life and energy. |
The moment the Gladekeeper entered her mind and brought Isabel's soul into the light, Everything changed. She could see. That moment had defined her whole existence, and she had vowed to never let the Mother down. Upon her Ceremony of Initiation, she set off to spread the word and teachings of her dear Mother.
