• soft lad • loves to receive letters • postcards with images of other places decorate his room • very into astrology. he doesn’t believe star signs wholly define people and relationships, but he does believe they give insight into these matters and that there’s worth in horoscopes, if only for guidance • reads often, he’s on friendly terms with the local librarians • insomniac, drinks coffee throughout the whole day • needs routine and feels uncomfortable diverging much from his schedule • keeps a very clean living space • currently staying at Leona’s boarding house, he doesn’t have much to offer in return but he’s very greatful and volunteers for any tasks she needs done • Leona & Aubade were his only contacts during his incarceration, he feels that owes everything to the friendship they offered him. Faolan looks up to them like siblings • was imprisoned on charges of being an accomplice to murder and very narrowly avoided being sentenced as the murderer themself. He insists he had no part in the actual crime and only helped to conceal it, but he has repeatedly refused to name the true culprit to lessen his sentence, even now he won’t talk • was finally released only a few months ago and is still trying to readjust • lived in a large city in the Sunbeam Ruins previously, but he followed Aubade to Stormshroud after his release • grew up in a very cult-y group on the outskirts of the plaguelands after being taken in at a young age, didn’t know his parents and whether they willingly gave him up or if he was stolen. • first met Ariston there and had a very close relationship with the nocturne • still slips into the mindsets he was raised with sometimes, but he’s trying hard to finally shake them and sever himself from that part of his life |
The Technician Sigh into your cup of coffee As you watch the morning news There goes your good day There's the knot on the noose Pop a **** and thus a smile Feign contentment for a while That's all you know how to do When the wool is off your eyes You'll stop counting sheep at night 'Cause you'll get your fill of them During the day time ~ As the sunlight filters in There your daily dread sets in The cycle's beginning And in your head, alarms are ringing Something in you's fast asleep Afraid to be who you will be It's a losing battle, So why are you still fighting? When the wool is off your eyes You'll stop counting sheep at night 'Cause you'll get your fill of them During the day time • counting sheep - the crane wives |
design notes: wings are fully feathered, but pinioned; the wrist joint and, by extension, primary feathers on both wings are missing
Probably not very canon but very cool lore by @Lotron! May possibly have to try to work some of this stuff in, or maybe tweak it for another dragon?

Lore
Life has not treated Faolan fairly from the moment he was born. Misfortune seemed to follow him like an eager to learn apprentice would follow their master. Yet Faolan adapted and overcame, weather it be falsely imprisoned because of murder or loosing faith in his best friend. This troubled skydancer knows a thing or two about pain and misery, since it plagues his mind from the moments he trusted someone. He lived as a rogue, often scavenging trash and then crafting it to make it look desirable. Once, he had gotten himself mixed up with a gang of dragons who would sell dragons on the black market, claiming they were willing servants, while they were actually imprisoned slaves. At that time, Faolan didn't care as much about what he was doing, being in a state of great hunger and poverty. Now, however, the nightmares of his past haunt him in his dreams, and he sleeps as little as he can, as to runaway from these horrid nightmares.
When he arrived at clan Stormshroud, he didn't know what to expect. Would he be needed to put on a facade of a heartless killer, like the previous clan he infiltrated? Or would he have to pretend to be an overly optimistic and dumb dragon in hopes that he would not be viewed as a threat? Upon arrival, it occurred to him that he just may not need to do either. He was very sick and thin when he was recruited, and yet the dragons in this clan healed him without asking for anything in return. At first, he thought that perhaps they were simply manipulating into trusting him and then using him, which has happened before.
But as time went on, he saw that this wasn't manipulation, this was kindness. Something everyone experienced in their lifetimes, except him. Until now. He slowly, very slowly, came to trust these unusually kind clan. he softened, blossomed into a less troubled dragon. Yes, he was sometimes stalked by his mistakes, but he still got a chance to take the reigns of his own life for once. He taught himself to read, something he always wanted to do.
Finally, life has given him a chance to love himself and his existence. If the Gods existed just like the legends said, he would finally have a chance to thank them for his life, for he now has something to live for.
Headcanons
-Faolan uses his new life in the clan to the fullest, finally getting to do what he wants to. When he was a rogue and scavenger, he lived in a tight and crammed space with strangers, not having enough space to turn around in his sleep, and especially not to re arrange his room as he wanted to. Now, his cave is very orderly and fashionable. He decorated his den to be very aesthetically pleasing, having a very nice sense of fashion, while also being very practical.
-Speaking of things being practical, it takes him a while to get the point of jewelry and other accessories. Yes, he saw jewelry on wealthy dragons as a rogue, but always though it to be unnecessary and weird. Why waste money on stuff like that when you could get more food? After all, there cant be too much food, can there?
-After a while, however, he became a fashionista. As a scavenger, he would often craft stuff from materials for a living, so he knew a little about fashion and aesthetics. he always had a limited amount of beads and materials, but now living in a wealthy clan he can allow himself to craft just for pleasure.
-Another thing he now loves to do is to just write and read. He didn't know that it felt so good to know these things until he learned them. When he first joined this clan, he didn't know how to do either, but the clan's leaders and librarians taught Faolan to do so.
-Faolan is very intelligent and learns and adapts to new information very quickly. Not only does he love to learn, he also loves to teach. He can often be found teaching young-lings the best way to weave and craft jewelry, making masterclasses for them. Faolan is very diligent and patient, making an excellent mentor and teacher. The clan's hatchlings love him.
