B I O G R A P H Y

Main Theme: Shiver my Timbers from Muppets Treasure Island

______ Salamancer the Ship's Cook is enjoying his retirement from life on the seas by settling down and opening up a small establishment called Salamancer's Saloon. He brews his own alcohol and Roast provides the food. With his wings covered in coral tattoos and a starfish shaped scar the gruff voiced snapper can be an intimidating figure. In the pockets of his old overcoat he keeps his snuffbox and peppermints for the children. One of his feet was lost in a fierce sea battle with the Maren and has been replaced by a metal prosthetic. He wears an eye patch to keep an eye adjusted to the dark at all times but likes to make up fantastical stories for the children about how he lost his eye. On his shoulder is perched a talkative parrot named Flint that can repeat short sentences better than most of it's species that is sometimes used to take drink orders. He runs an establishment alongside Roast where a dragon can eat and drink their fill. He is a former member of Courtesean's crew. Unusually for his species he is a strong swimmer and enjoys a morning dip in the Lair's lake with his familiar Whale. Recently he's hired a strange newcomer called the Void to man the bar while he takes care of things in general. He can often be found in a comfy chair by the fire, where hatchlings will often ask him to tell them pirate stories. His nails are usually painted in bright pastel colors by them and he holds a pretty swinging imaginary tea party.

______ Hatchlings seldom stay for long in the Last Retreat but while they are here Salamancer does his best to keep them safe. Accompanied by a curious Shimmering Xolo with young of its own this well muscled Snapper carries them on him back for as long as they are small enough to do so. Always ready with an interesting tale of adventure at hand he has wandered across many lands before eventually settling in the Last Retreat. His fearsome look belies his rather placid nature. He has no issue with letting the young ones walk all over him. Literally. However any dragon that tries to take advantage of his apparent naivety soon finds themselves on the end of a tongue sharper than that of a Pearlcatcher.
