______ Tideline is one of the few aquatic dragons in the Lair. The smaller fins on each leg and the gills that line his neck are a rare sign of the Tidelord's favor to one born in the realm of the Windsinger. He lives in a simple seaside shack with his hooks and nets and fishes the ocean around the Last Retreat. Though his wings are perfectly healthy he cannot fly, instead he uses them to powerfully propel himself through the water with his nets trailing behind. His trawls come close to the Maren Reserve and young Warriors-in-training often dare each other to touch his scaled hide without getting caught in his nets. The Guardian takes this all in good fun and takes care to free any Maren who get caught, such as brash Elver, without hurting them. The fish that are too young or rare to be eaten are also set free, he only takes the best of the lot for sale. His catch he cleans and prepares to be sent straight to Roast. He only eats water dwelling insects and plants as well as a strong alcohol he makes with fermented fish guts. Once a week he takes the day off to go to Salamancer's Saloon and exchange salty sea tales with the old Snapper. The bright blue scales of his hide are a warning to other ocean predators that he and is his catch are not to be trifled with.

______ One of the more stoic members of the Lair Tideline is seldom seen and rarely speaks, often because he has nothing to say. He loves the sea and its rolling waves and no dragon has been able to tempt him away from it. His Charge is the ocean itself in all its moods and careless dragons disturbing the shores is one of the few things guaranteed to get a reaction from him. In the rare times he is seen in the lair he wears his net over his shoulders and his prized fishing line around one wing so they are not damaged or stolen. On days when the ocean is calm and the skies are clear you may find him on the wharf with his line in the water, waiting for a big one to bite. Those with patience to learn may approach to learn the secrets of tying lines, baiting hooks and the best places to catch certain fish. Learning the meditative patience of fishing is a favorite summertime memory of many dragons of the Last Retreat who havegiven him the affectionate nickname of grandpa.
