Josef

Josef is a frothing, ferociously loyal follower of the Plaguebringer to the end. He calls himself Malarias Rabier to both intimidate and bring himself closer to his beloved goddess, although "Rabier" is an affectation typically used in signatures because he likes the sound of it. The word doesn't really mean anything by itself.

Josef collects wayward hatchlings from all ends of the world for a selfish purpose: He seeks to educate them on the superiority of the Plague flight and eventually send them to the ranks of the Diseased One....at least, that seems to be his only reason for breeding.

Like any other mirror, Josef enjoys picking fights with other dragons, especially ones from foreign flights. Any victory he achieves is self-rewarded with pieces of the loser, which can be anything from a few scales to an eyeball. These 'trophies' are kept safe and preserved in jars shelved at the darkest, dankest, most disease-ridden end of his lair. Even those few clan mates who have accepted their fates refuse to look upon his gruesome collection.

He wears his wounds with pride, especially an angry set of black sores on his limbs, torso, and neck. No one, not even matriarch Reynaud, is exactly sure where he got these, but the unanimous assumption is that he's been playing around and seasoning his food with Wyrmwound glop for far too long. This may also explain his insanity...

All of the hatchlings and foreign dragons of his clan are given names from diseases he believes existed as banes of life thousands of years ago, documented in ancient history books. Very few of his clan mates believe his rantings, but those who've been around for a while know better than to try and argue with the crazed patriarch. The books apparently exist, but are too moth eaten and stained with infectious bodily fluids to be properly deciphered. The dragons of Clan Malarias that originated in the Sunbeam Ruins are appalled to know this, but are willing to use their new immunity to crippling disease in order to attempt restoring the ruined tomes, much to Josef's amusement.

Josef currently leads the primary hunting party, but is in the process of training a secondary one, as that provides a fine distraction from dangerous schemes and life-threatening experiments--on both himself and any clan mate unfortunate enough to doubt the ways of the Diseased One.
