Inanna

Inanna is named for the ancient goddess of love and war. She was born into a wealthy clan of pure Guardians. When she was young, her family took in a Tundra hatchling as a ward. As they grew up together, they developed a friendship, which displeased her family. Inanna was frustrated at the discrimination her family showed toward Dumuzi, and they left to form their own clan, where every dragon was welcome, regardless of breed. The varied community on the Tsunami Flats welcomed them and gave them a place to call home.

Then, there came a time when the Tidelord required more dragons to serve him, to show his prowess to the other gods. Several of the clan left to heed his calling. Dumuzi waited, knowing that he might go with them, but not wanting to broach the subject with Inanna. Finally, after all the others had gone and the Tidelord was still asking for more, Dumuzi announced his intentions. No one stopped him.

When he was gone, Inanna decided to make Ishkur, the first dragon to join their clan, her consort, but he was not meant for leading. He was an excellent warrior, but he lacked the understanding necessary to resolve conflicts. Then, another dragon came along, saying he had heard a voice asking him to come to the Lesser Tsunami Flats and find the dragon named Inanna. Inanna knew that he had heard Dumuzi's voice, and so chose to replace Ishkur with this new dragon, to whom she gave the name Dumuzi.
