Biography
VIVICAR guard captain strong-willed | courageous | easy spoken Hailing from a wind lair, this young gaoler's bulky gaoler build and small wings were unfit for the spiraling gusts in that domain. He was accepted into Soteris shortly after hatching, only vaguely aware that they used to live near the Wyrmwound. In that short time span, he was raised by the clan prince, Enceladus. He wasn't taught how to be a gaoler because he was the first one to join the clan. He only figured out which order he should belong in when the clan was suddenly thrown in disarray by the founders fighting amongst each other. It was one of the only times he ever had to use his knowledge of magic, as he joined Enceladus and Kopicus to stop the fight and prevent it from going any further. Luckily, there was very little bloodshed and a... somewhat happy ending to that. Vivicar was a part of the sentinel order, though he would later use his excellent guarding skills to protect the clan. To no surprise, Enceladus was chosen to lead the clan henceforth. Vivicar was proud of him and wanted to see him, succeed, but a small part of him was churning unpleasant emotions. He had some knowledge that Enceladus was bonding with a new dragon in the lair. Not long after he took on the role as the leader of Soteris, the wildclaw announced his relationship with Glitch. Vivicar had known Enceladus much longer, they were definitely closer in many ways, and he felt like he was supposed to be more important than anyone else. Knowing all of this, he couldn't understand why the wildclaw chose her. Vivicar now stands proud as the guard captain, leading two younger gaolers and training them on how they should guard the clan. His first underling, Nazali, was under the seeker order and actually spent some time doing that before he joined Soteris. More recently, a feathered gaoler named Lenneth was introduced to the clan. He was a sentry. It wasn't hard to teach him, according to Vivicar. The three worked together for many months without issue and, whilst a new gaoler was apprenticing under them, the clan was faced with another conflict. Vivicar was informed that Enceladus would be trying to integrate the main clan of Soteris with the Wanderers, and that things might go downhill when they confronted Rohit, the leader. Fortunately for Segye, the new guard, he didn't have to see the vicious fight that entailed. He was, however, put in charge of monitoring Rohit when he was thrown into prison, along with Nazali. Overseeing them, Vivicar spoke briefly with Rohit while the others were gone. "I wonder why a hardy dragon like you is pining over that kid," Rohit spoke suddenly, from within his cell. Vivicar paused, waiting for the smaller dragon to continue. The mirror digressed, "He didn't do anything to deserve that position, he left our clan for years, and is now given whatever he wants? If anyone deserved—" "You think you should lead the clan instead? Lead them to what? Violence? Pestilence? All you want is to move back to the Scarred Wasteland, where very few of the current clan would thrive, let alone survive." He interjected, a low growl pulling at the back of his throat, as he took a step closer to the mirror. His heart was racing and he could feel the frustration building within him, his composition a tower of cards that could fall apart in an instant. Rohit seemed relaxed, and it was infuriating. "It was my clan from the start, and it will be again when I return. As it should've been." "It won't, and I'll see to it that you'll never have authority over anyone in the clan again. Have fun with the Lightweaver, I'm sure she'll love your company," Vivicar said through his clenched jaw. Rohit only scoffed in response; it was silent for a moment, before Segye returned for his shift. He greeted Vivicar curtly and sent him off. The piebald gaoler went for a walk before going home and sleeping through the night. |
