For weary wanderers, the travelling tavern is never too far away.

When their feet ache with every step, sometimes accompanied with a heavy heart or the familiar wanderlust in their souls, a lantern will glow in the distance.
Through dense shrubbery or hazy fog, it seems to beckon them in, inviting them to take a break from their journey.

If they choose to follow, their rest stop will appear, looking both out of place and as familiar as if it had been built into its environment. High arches, of an impossibly dark wood may disappear into the tree trunks of giants; gleaming long walls may stretch over the dusty floor, free from cobwebs and dirt; or it may tower over the ground, looking rickety and ancient between contemporary buildings. The traveller may marvel at how comfortable it looks despite leaning heavily to one side, and make a decision. They may walk towards the entrance, longing for a bed or conversation with a stranger.

And once the visitor leaves, they may turn around with one last glance, and wonder why they're staring into empty space.

The tavern didn't always have staff but over time, some patrons have settled in: Aslan, Valeth, and Firefly.

One by one they appeared like the dragon before them, exhausted and lost but marvelling at the tavern's comfort.

One by one they chose to stay.

One by one they welcome the next dragon, caring for the tavern like it cares for them.
