It is only known among seasoned adventurers that Croaking Boglights originate from a mother gourd that links all its progeny through telepathy. This "queen gourd" as it is often referred to, is a massive gnarled pumpkin covered in fungal growths. These fungi act as food for young Boglights who rely on the mother gourd while they are growing. They follow the will of the gourd, to survive and thrive. In the event that their mother gourd is compromised, adult Boglights will dig into the earth and bury themselves until their tiny growth germinates into a new mother gourd, thus establishing a new colony. One should be wary when they come across a Croaking Boglight, as what one set of eyes see all will see, and some may not forget a face. |
