Short Bio:
As a hatchling, Cantaloupe was a bit different than how she is now. She loved to explore and was a bit rebellious. Her parents would tell her not to venture too far from their lair, but she wouldn't listen. "Our lair is so small," she would think, "I know this place like the back of my paw. But out there, I don't know what I'll find! A new adventure every time I go out!".
One day while adventuring, she ventured farther than normal into a strange forest. It was starting to get dark, but she wanted to investigate it a bit before returning. The next thing Cantaloupe knew, she was being shaken awake by her mother outside her home. As she regained her bearings, she noticed she couldn't feel her wings. She glanced over to them and noticed strange parchments on them. Despite her best efforts, she couldn't rip them off. Many dragons tried to free her from her curse, with solutions ranging from magic to alchemy. But to no success.
Cantaloupe didn't know who or what did this to her, but she had recurring nightmares of trying to escape from a strange Pearlcatcher in the forest she was in before she lost her ability to fly. The experience had not only scarred her physically, but mentally. She didn't feel safe to go outside and generally stayed close to her parents. As time went on, she started to feel comfortable being on her own again. But she remained cautious, fearing of a similar incident could happen again.
Cantaloupe had loved herbology since she was a hatchling, and dedicated herself to it now that she couldn't leave the earth they lived on. One day while gathering, she wandered father than intended and was surrounded by monsters. Fearing the end for her, a fellow Coatl comes to her rescue. He offers her a place to stay for the night, and begins to fly to lead her there. He quickly notices her not following suit and asks her what's wrong. Cantaloupe explains her curse to him. The Coatl's eyes seem to light up, but quickly become serious as rustling is heard around them. He uses a spell he created to give her a temporary set of wings, and they fly to his home.
After they arrive to the Coatl's home, he explains how he's been trying to discover a new type of magic and that it might be related to her unbreakable curse. Cantaloupe becomes excited at this proposition, thinking she might have finally found her ticket to freedom from the curse. But the pain from the monsters attacking her kicks in and she collapses. The Coatl quickly heals her, and gives her a space to sleep in his lair. The next morning, she tells the Coatl that she decided to stay with him so they could figure out how to dispel her curse.
The two have yet to break the curse, but they instead found love.
(Will update to make this shorter like Pumpkin's short bio after I adapt this to the short story, this is me moreso planning out that lol)
