Glimpse

Water dragons are known for prophecy, but Glimpse's are always wrong. Not just a little wrong, like guessing a storm will arrive in two days when it actually comes in three, but startlingly wrong. Glimpse sees worlds that seem to have been built on completely different histories, different planets, different laws of physics. Seeing them also takes much more of her strength than a normal dragon would spend for a prophecy.

Some suspect that Glimpse is actually incapable of prophecy, and that she actually just passes out from the exhaustion of her efforts and dreams. Best not to mention this theory around her though. While normally a fairly peaceful dragon, Glimpse holds serious vindictive grudges against those that even imply she may simply be confusing dreams with prophecy.

Glimpse knows her prophecies never come true in our world, but she liked to think that somewhere what she saw does come to pass. Some alien planet or other dimension maybe, though she's not entirely sure if she really believes in such things. Regardless, after she has had a vision she experiences a brief period of confusion and disorientation. She often runs around in this state trying to convince anyone who will listen of her latest prophecy. It's only later, when she comes back to her senses, that she remembers her prophecies don't apply to our world on even the most basic levels.

It's common for Glimpse to convince newcomers of her wild prophecies, during her moments of disorientation after receiving a new prophecy. The fact that she can do this despite the obvious nonsense her visions usually contain may mean that Glimpse has some sort of low-level mind-altering magic, with the power to convince dragons of things that are obviously untrue. If there is any such magic in her, it wears off rather quickly and can only affect a dragon once. This often leaves dragons confused as to why they ever believed Glimpse. Some will even accuse her of having done it on purpose to make a fool out of them. Others may simple feel angry, betrayed, or otherwise upset at the insanity they were briefly made to believe. Glimpse has very few friends because of this.

Glimpse's favorite hobby is to make replicas of the impossible things she sees in her visions. She spends hours creating tiny models of various cities and structures she saw. Strange machines are also featured heavily in her art, replicated down to the tiniest visible detail. Visible being the operative word, Glimpse has no idea how machinery works and has never been able to make her machine statues actually functional. She insists this is simply because she's neither mechanically inclined nor often able to peer into the inner workings of the machines in her visions. Arguing with her on this subject is another thing that will earn her resentment.
