A candy that is packed with energy. When consumed, it will instantly raise the level of a single Pokémon by one.

Rare Candies can give either more or less experience to a Pokémon than an Exp. Candy depending on its level and experience group. For Pokémon in the Erratic, Fast, and Medium Fast experience groups, an Exp. Candy XL always gives more experience than a Rare Candy.

If a Rare Candy is used on a level 100 Pokémon that evolves by leveling up and currently meets its evolution requirements, it will evolve (without gaining a level). This applies to all Pokémon that evolve by leveling up, not just Pokémon that evolve at or above a certain level. The evolution can be canceled, but that will waste the Rare Candy.

In Generation IX, Rare Candies are only consumed if the Pokémon actually levels up.

In an interview, Junichi Masuda posited humans may be able consume Rare Candies, but they probably would not like them as this is the equivalent of eating dog food in the real world.

As a die-hard Pokemon fan, RareCandy is such a unique take on a Pokemon fandragon!! The accent matches so well, and that Lapis Ringlets really helps tie in the Rare Candy theme. Such a cute idea for a fandragon that was executed really well! I love that you used an Imperial, because Imperials are such big and powerful dragons, and Rare Candies make Pokemon more powerful! Such a cool connection.
