Biography
SAVERNAKE / THE FORESTER / SHE/HER
Brief lore summary.
Savernake attempts to understand the very nature of the woods she calls her home, from the role of even the smallest of flowers to the greatest of trees to all the animals, large and small, which roam the grounds alongside her. Maintaining balance and stability within this place has been of the utmost importance to her ever since she first took up the role of forester, a job she dedicates as much energy to as any guardian would in protecting their charge. There is always work for her, from summer to winter, rain and shine, and she intends to complete that work no matter the cost. Sometimes she finds herself wondering if she should take a break, but no, the woods would never be healthy without her.
While she spends most of the day alone, Savernake occasionally locks horns with her partner Shervage, who tends to individual trees rather than the whole glade. Simultaneously she appreciates his help in removing rogue weeds and fungi, while abhorring how attached he gets to sick individual trees he thinks he can treat, at the cost of the health of the woods as a whole. Arguments between the two about whether or not to remove and destroy sickened plants are not uncommon, and Savernake sometimes wishes she never had Shervage’s help at all: she would rather strip every weed and sickened tree from the land entirely by herself if it meant she could ensure the wellbeing of the place could be damaged by sentimentality.
