 Sharing really was not their forte, not this early into their relations, but it soon enough became a slow yet steady second nature. Wherever Serenade went, the two Banescale were sure to follow close behind. It drew the occasional look from the two conjoined clans but those who knew better opted for a wiser choice of saying nothing; especially when Serenade left the pair and instead of turning their maws upon each other in violence, they offered the same care to the other as well. If pressed about such things, it was always heavily denied. They were, after all, rivals. Serenade, more often than not, left the comfort of her den empty and found herself wedged contently between the two fire Ancients. Regardless of the time of day or weather, she could guarantee a restful night of sleep. Never once had a droplet of rain touch her among a nighttime storm or the crass daylight drawing her from a nap prematurely. Cute. They were cute. She could liken them to lost puppies in how she gained two shadows in their company. At first, she assumed it was merely because their reckless nature saw them in her healing barrows almost daily but it trickled on for weeks to months until it was routine. Their lives were intertwined with her on such a deep level that, whilst she would not admit it, she had become poor at hunting and the colder weather ailed her when sleeping. When had she become complacent to their affections? It was amusement at the beginning; she had let them chase each other away and crawl back in circles with offerings. The attention was pleasing and they never failed to impress when they put their minds to it. The competition twisted with time and became less a battle between the ancients but them against her resolve of waiting out their boredom in her. She mutely noted that it had yet to arrive as her gaze turned upon the pair. Calypso’s wing is set over her, dulling the hot midday sun and Keres had brought her food. A smirk curled her maw as she nuzzled into Calypso’s side, relishing in the treatment. She, truly, did not know why that pink Coatl complained so greatly about her Ancient spoiling and chasing her; This was the lap of luxury. She wouldn’t trade these two for the world.
