Biography
Cinnabar, the Mad Queen
Lore by Aqualia
(**Gore alert!!!**)
She wasn't mad from the start--a once fair queen ruling vast lands with peace...
at least for most. Even under what seemed to be the fairest of circumstances,
there was always dissatisfaction. The ring of the blade would never be erased
from her mind, the anger in that snarl, the pain as the weapon thrust itself deep
in her dark blue eyes, lashed itself across her tail--an assassination attempt.
She didn't understand why someone would want to commit such a grievous act.
She didn't understand why her entire council did not believe a word she uttered.
She didn't understand to what extents her comrades would go to seize power...
She didn't even understand who exactly was the soul who committed it.
The young dragoness became paranoid.
No one understood where she got the cleaver from.
A cleaver that tore heads from their bodies.
A cleaver that pierced through dozens of scaly chests.
A cleaver that smashed and slashed, blow upon blow,
until bodies upon bodies fell to the ground, lifeless.
A cleaver that, after committing such grievous acts,
was grasped by the talons of its own holder...
and plunged deep into her own face.
Within one night, the dragoness, driven by a mad, crazed fear,
had murdered her entire council...and herself.
Her dismantled body lay still upon the cold floors of her lair.
No one came back to retrieve it or bury it.
No one visited her lair ever since the very incident happened.
She was gradually forgotten as her body remained
on those cold, cold floors; as it wasted away; as her
scales lost their luster, as her flesh began to rot, as
webs were spun about her wings; as vultures circled;
as her bones began to protrude from her lonely corpse.
No one valued her efforts as a queen.
No one believed her testimony on the assassination.
And even in death (perhaps even tragically)...no one came to console her.
