Celaeno and his family were born alongside the Harpies that live all over the spacious area of the Highland Scrub in the Shifting Expanse. Because both Harpies and Harpykin developed alongside each other, Celaeno and his kind display many of the same traits as Harpies. Such as fully feathered bodies, light-colored wings, drab body colors, longer claws and talons. Being a rare-born male, Celaeno has been overly-protected by both the mothers of his family and the Harpies of the coven his family was born into.

Celaeno has a natural affinity for the Harpy language and while he is bilingual, he prefers to mainly speak in Harpy. Because his kind share space with the Harpies, many of them are known Beastclan sympathizers and can often be seen fighting alongside the Beastclan forces rather than against them. This makes them unlikely to join most dragon clans. They instead prefer to live among the Harpies or with their own kind.

One of the harpies of Celaeno's coven has chosen to accompany him to his new home and has decided to stay alongside him.
