There's some debate in the Anthelion ranks about whether Alabaster was created from scratch, animated from a sculpture, or perhaps the product of some sort of necromancy. It wouldn't be worth it to press him for information--he exists solely to welcome visitors and guide tours through the sumptuous halls of Anthelion, a living repository of information and hospitality. When not working he is nearly always sleeping in the sun--and he has been known to shut down mid-tour for a nap, as well, an occurrence Spokelse graciously refers to as a "known bug."
