Biography

AUSAR
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
|
Perhaps the best way to tell Ausar apart from his twin brother, Set, is to see which one scolds you over something silly first. A little uptight and full of himself, Ausar is a gifted scientist and he is very, very aware of it. Much more straight-laced than his brother, Ausar tends to be quiet and speculative and very rarely talks without having thought first, which is the exact opposite of whatever Set does. Despite this, though, he always staunchly defends Set whenever he gets told that there's no way they could be related or that he's the 'good twin.' Ausar may have a good head on his shoulders, but he also has a great deal of difficulty admitting when he's wrong or when he's made mistakes. He tends to be arrogant and assume that he's always the brightest dragon in the room. Like Set, he does not trust easily, and he's additionally not as friendly as Set is, which makes him a difficult dragon to get to know. He can be a touch elitist, which is ironic considering his humble background, and he often assumes that the most well-spoken dragon is instantly correct. Fortunately, also like Set, he's great at picking up on things and at thinking on his feet, and he's trying to force himself to empathize with other dragons a bit more easily. He may be a bit too focused on his work and on his own intelligence, but Ausar is a bright young dragon, and his brother hopes he'll one day be able to admit when he's messed up, too.
Behind the Name...
Ausar (Egyptian wsjr, commonly transliterated as Osiris) was the Ancient Egyptian god of the afterlife, the dead, resurrection, and life. The name might mean "the powerful one" or "one who bears the eye." He was the brother of Set.
