Biography
EHE:1
In a clan where most of the dragons are usually out on scouting skirmishes, Murus finds his new position rather amenable. For one, he does not have to constantly deal with other dragons and their negative emotions. Two, as the head chef most of the draconic emotions that he does have to deal with are positive ones. He does his best to ensure most of the other dragons eat properly, and strives to ensure the scouts do not always forage in the same territories. Most of the time, they do oblige him, for lending a helping claw to Murus always results in delicious outcomes.
He and Carenoa hit it off fairly quickly, having both come from the same Flight. The two often share many stories under the scant sunlight of the forest whenever they both have time to spare. They talk of sprawling libraries, bathed in sun coming through towering stained glass windows. Murus often reminisces of his escapades from his position as a lowly research assistant for the countless scholars of the region, and how he finally found his solace in the kitchens, where he can do his own kinds of research and projects regarding the more welcomed and forgiving subject known as food.
Murus particularly enjoys experimenting with food preservation of all kinds of food, making full use of the naturally cool cellars to keep not just fruit, but fish and meat fresh longer than they would remain in most other lands. One of his daily chores is adding to the large cauldron of seemingly endless simmering stew by the main hearths, he is rather proud of what comes out from it; sometimes being delectably savory and rich, and other times surprisingly light and refreshing. No one ever really sees him cooking a new batch, hence the rumor amongst several of the Ravenwatchers that he has the skill to deliciously maintain a large pot of stew every single day. However, if there's anything he's not the best at preparing, it's shellfish. For he rarely ever encountered it growing up, and now in the depths of the forest, he also never gets the opportunity or resources to test out ideas. When the seafood-eating dragons of the Ravenwatchers began griping about the repetitiveness of his seafood repertoire, his rebuttal resulted in a scramble to source and acquire beloved and popular seafood recipes for him.
