Aerfen is a fae model, small, rather delicate, and - most importantly - hard to see. His particular type was given the ability to think swiftly and a live feed for others to watch and record. These fae models were going to observe and search for FL/GHT members and track them down.
Or at least that was the plan.
The fae models were too fragile, swiftly breaking down and apart through regular wear and tear and even gentle use. On top of that, most never had the needed memory to keep up with themself and their surroundings. They were continuously tweaked and while showing improvement, never reached the standard needed to survive unaided outside the lab. There was a few ideas thrown around of what to do with the sturdier models, but no one conclusion was reached.
Eventually a member of the team that used to work on the failed surveillance fae model got approval to auction off the remaining models as 'limited edition live feed androids' to recoup wasted revenue.
The surviving models were then placed for auction, buyers were told they could pick from a few packages to help customize their particular model for the wanted job.
Nanny, Familiar watcher, Nocturnal or Diurnal watch, even an option to wipe out most of the code, though this was only offered to a select few.
Aerfen did his best through these times to keep his fellow androids comforted, most of the time forcing happiness for them. He saw some of his closest friends get wiped, everything deleted. Even their names. One by one, the others were sent away.
Then it was finally his turn.
