Biography
- Negotiator
- Lol just does Six's job
- Birth Clan: The Tempest Chase
- He / Him / His
Lull's older brother
Though his appearance is striking and grim, Defer is not an especially dour dragon. Others find him congenial and friendly, though it is a chilled friendliness, rather like a stiff autumn gust, unexpected in an otherwise warm day. While it is beneficial when others think well of him, he is indifferent to how others perceive him personally. While he tries to model his father's unflappable nature, especially during business, he finds it quite straining sometimes, as he is especially perceptive of others' emotions. He tends to need a lot of alone time to recharge, but he is happily on-call for any crisis that may present itself.
Defer came to Oakrest to fulfill a position as Negotiator when Sixten, the clan's previous bearer of the title, chose to hang up his mantle and walk into the embrace of Earthshaker. The envoy, Kier, sought out skilled negotiators from various clans to fill the position, and when she found the Tempest Chase's Ček, she knew that she had found a dragon deserving of the position.
Unfortunately, Ček was not willing to leave, but suggested instead one of his offspring in his stead.
Raised to contracts and negotiation under his father's tutelage, parlay and politesse are deeply embedded in Defer's life. He is unfailingly polite, except by tactical turns, and completely loyal to the Citadel which he calls home.
