Biography

"If we expand to the north, we're gonna end up in the ocean eventually!"

Digger is an extremely strange case. Shortly after Gaoler dragons started spreading out into the world of Sorneith and integrating into the clans of modern dragons, Ruby alerted the rest of the clan to a strange dragon prowling the nesting grounds. It turned out to be Digger, who had been looking to find a new home, and being used to the ways of the Gaolers, assumed that he would have to settle among the hatchlings, considering he had refused to choose an order to belong to when he originally came of age.

While the hatchlings adored their new, strange, furry friend, the rest of the clan was less impressed by his plans. Eventually Carsui convinced the wayward Gaoler to accompany her to the main den so they could discuss what had brought him all the way from the Southern Icefield to the Viridian Labyrinth.

Despite the rocky start he had with integrating, Digger is now a firm part of the clan. He's a very free spirited dragon. Most dragons that have come to know about Gaolers expect them to be stoic and harsh, as they are beings made to contain the Shade. However Digger couldn't be further from that. He loves life and the warmth of the Labyrinth, even if it can sometimes make issues with his thick coat. He's usually the one overseeing the hatchlings as they make their first ventures outside the nesting grounds, and he's become fast friends with the others members of the clan.

Digger tends to focus on expanding the den, digging out new tunnels with his sturdy claws and clearing blocked areas that other dragons need to access. Many dragons appreciate him taking over this task, as expanding the lair is always a very tedious (and costly) process. With Digger, things have become a lot easier, such that many of the other clan members can now focus on other tasks rather than endlessly shoveling away at the dirt.

Digger is a handsome spook. I have a soft spot for goat eyed Gaolers. I imagine his name may allude to something he does frequently? The Ghost Tertiary on top of his Phantom Primary is a really nice combo that I may have to explore in my own lair!

I have a huge soft spot for Gaolers with Phantom, it’s such a gorgeous gene in my opinion. Based on his personality, I can see him digging a hole with the little hatchlings close by watching him. That seems like an adorable image in my mind.

While many people have trouble getting attached to ancients due to their lack of ability to wear apparel, gaolers are one of my favorite breeds, and I find it especially impressive when they can surpass clothes wearing dragons. For Digger, I really liked how precisely the accent colors of his auburn secondary matched his primary. And the contrast between the vibrant blue eyes and the more naturalistic colors is very striking!
