______ Argos DeRosa, son of some unimportant noble in the DeRosa clan. A young man who never cared much for the political intrigue that mired his family, and like his cousin Rosewater, decided to carve out his own path. Foregoing heroics and glory, Argos contented himself with his arcane studies and fell in love with alchemy. Through study and experimentation, he discovered a reliable way to bind enchantments to molten metal. This technique allowed him to craft jewelry with enchantments far more potent than what was previously possible. However, misfortune struck him one fateful evening when one of his spells failed to bind properly, resulting in liquid gold exploding on to his scales and scar his skin. Due to the enchanted nature of the metal, it fused to his scars and remained forever molten.

______ Believing himself forever condemned to a life of agony. The young alchemist reached out to a well-known apothecary and tea maker, Lukako Tsubaki for her aid. Over the course of days, Lukako helped craft a poultice to treat his pain. Every few weeks, Argos would come in to visit Lukako to pick up his poultice and in return, he brought with him new jewelry and conversation. Lukako grew to greatly appreciate his company, being a lonely young woman herself. Basically, the two nerds fell in love because they were nerds and liked each other's wit and skill. Dorks.
