Biography

My whole life starting the day I was born, I was destined to mate with a pre-chosen royal dragon. A horribly stuck up and rude individual that tried to make advances any time I was alone with him even though our ceremony wasn't for a few more months, but I always escaped his attempts. I detested him. He wanted nothing more than power, and I was rare in my clan, a child of Ice and Arcane born to the light. A powerful tool for relations among the clans. I wanted nothing to do with it, so one day when a young wind dragon who had come to visit these lands with her older sibling was to return home I begged to be taken with. The eldest was hesitant but agreed when I said I'd be forever in their debt. The eldest was still innocent enough to see that as a good bargaining chip I supposed, but I wasn't going to complain. I took nothing, everything I owned was gifts from the suitors parents or him himself. There apparently was a storm brewing, but the two youngsters reassured me that a storm wouldn't effect wind dragons very much and since I was full grown I should be fine. So trusting their words we left in the night.

The storm was brutal, this wasn't at all the storm they were told it was, but the wind dragons did indeed ride the currents like it was easy, only faltering on rare occasions when a strange cross wind hit them. I was having a harder time, winds like these weren't common where I was from, but I continued forward, my new life, freedom, it was just over the water clans oceans. I knew that the cold winds from the south in the Ice fields traveled north into the windswept plateau then mingled with the heat of the ashfall wastes over this ocean, but I had never imagined such ferocious weather. How did the water clan survive here? A large waterspout erupted close by making us change our course to avoid it, a minor setback, but one with consequences. A lighting bolt struck the eldest sister directly and she fell. I dived after her, but I knew chances were she was dead, I slammed into the churning water headfirst frantically searching for the young dragon, it was pitch black and the force of the water tumbled me like a rag-doll. I breached and screamed for help, I began to panic as the hatchling hovered above me unsure how to help. I cried out again and again even though I knew there was only use out here. I began to lose my energy and I began to lose consciousness when a black and blue coatl with antlers emerged from the ocean beneath me but then darkness took me.

I awoke on a beach out of the storms fury, the Coatl that came from the ocean was sitting nearby entertaining the hatchling with a... flying fish of water? He turned to look at me as I groaned awake, he asked it I was okay and what happened. I explained to him as best I could, he seemed sorry and his eyes looked sad, deep, like the ocean but bright like the lighting in the distance. I asked if he saw the older sister int eh water, but he shook his head, so she was dead... I swallowed hard and changed the subject for the little one nearby. I asked if he was alright and what he was doing out here, the story he told me squeezed my heart with sadness and I offered to take him with me to the wind clans territory to find help for his friend even though I didn't have much hope. We took off once my strength recovered and the storm subsided and from there it only took a day of flying to reach our destination. We spoke most of the way there to get to know each other and comforting the hatchling. He was, charming and quite the looker and loyal, apparently to a fault from what I gathered. I felt something in my heart flutter for the first time in my life.

We made it to the Windswept plateau and were instantly taken to the clan leader to explain why one of their own was missing. The hatchling followed us sadly. To my surprise the leader sat coiled around himself like a jade statue as wind swept lightly around the room. Elvet stopped in stunned silence upon entering the room before bursting out with a loud and joyous yell. He rushed forward and embraced another coatl and began to cry with joy. It must be his friend that he talked about, I felt overjoyed seeing the reunion. The leader watched with a calm expression waiting patiently. It took a few minutes for Elvet to recuperate before the leader began to speak. He ended up accepting us and requested a feast and celebration for the life they lost to remember her memory. He thanked me for returning the youngest back home and asked for our stories. He greeted me as royalty once I told him my predicament and agreed to shelter me near him, but he cannot protect me if they find me. As for Elvet he was fascinated by his tale and offered him a den all his own near the cliffs overseeing the ocean so he may feel more at home in return he was to let the alchemists examine his pot and body. He promised no harm to Elvet and the deal was struck. Elvet and his friend spoke and many questions were asked, by the end of the conversation Elvet looked heartbroken, his mate re-mated, the clan thought him dead, he lost everything. I hurt seeing his pain, but he smiled warmly and hugged his friend, exclaiming at least he still had him.

A year later and Elvet had more than just his friend, I now lived with Elvet in his den. We had fallen in love and mated bearing five hatchlings with more planned. I grew to dislike Elvet's friend however, he felt wrong to me, he looked at Elvet with disdain behind his back, and treated him like he was an object and kept going on about his water fish. When I asked Elvet he said he has always kinda had that air to him. But my distrust and hatred for the coatl grew still and I wished for him to distance himself from his friend, but I could never tell Elvet this, not after what he had been through.
