I have no words. Legit Skarlette GAVE ME THIS LIL BABY FOR FREE (it was her very first Boggy egg that I offered to brew for her) AND A DOUBLE AND AAAAAA I'M incredibly tired and emotional rn ;v; He came from the second ever Bog egg I brewed too which is neat :D

I'm saving them for a new multi-headed Ancient ok? Ok. Named after the hound of Hades that guards the gates of the Underworld in Greek Mythology (a good pupper). I liked the Roman spelling better cx

03/03/22: Aberration’s were introduced! They got 2 heads which…I mean it’s still multi. They’re one of those rare MASSIVE Abes that you can get. The Ram's Head talks more (normal font) and the Three-Eyed Head pitches in every now and then (brackets, italics). When things are underlined they're talking directly to each other (In this lore, RH is telling TEH to shut up which is just one interaction example). Both speak together in bold. They have one name cos they were named as one (and thus identify singularly), even if sometimes they do have independent thoughts.

We smell you, Outsider. Come closer to us (we smell your FEAR), let us see you. How did you find this place? Hmm…you are Old Kind, but we do not smell the Small One with you. None shall pass without the Small One (rules are rules). Turn back or face our fury!

Who are we? We are strong. We are fierce. We are Cerberus! We guard this place (our home) from Outsiders like you. Our body is a mountain. Our teeth are tree trunks. Our claws? Rocks that snap you in half (like a twig). We would DIE before we leave our post. Now leave! We shall not ask again (two heads, two chances).

..Wait. You speak of…our Father? Has he sent you? Tell us! We have not seen him for a while (we miss him). If you know him, the Small One will bring him to us (the Small One always knows). You may pass with them if your words are true. We love Father (love him always). Father played with us. Cared for us. Loved us (ALWAYS will love us). The Small One helped him find us when we were lost. The Small One may pass us freely. We all must do our duty.

We were small once. The waves of the soup pushed us to shore. We could not swim well then. We were not strong (we are now! All that matters). Shh! Now we are the strongest of our kin, but our larger kin at the time were stronger. Hungrier (so strong, so hungry). They wanted to EAT us, prove to Mother we were not worth her favour. We were Abberations of the worst kind. We cried for Mother to protect us but got only silence (she never came, why why WHY)! We felt…abandoned. Was it the end for us?

NO! We could not surrender! We would be stronger than them! Stronger than Mother! But first? We needed to grow (taller than the mountains). Mother did not want us, so we did not want HER either. We did not want the Soup (bad memories of the Soup). It would never be enough for us! We would grow bigger than the Soup could ever make us! We used our speed to our advantage (smaller target, less weight) and we escaped…into the Unknown.

We travelled for many moons. We caught food where we could (always hungry). We rested where we collapsed. Many Outsiders passed us. They did not stop. They were AFRAID of us (we were not afraid of them). ‘Two heads?’ they said. ‘Not natural at all’! But we could not understand. Two heads are better than one. Old Kind was a mystery to them, newly surfaced from an ancient slumber. We thought of this always, and walked until our legs collapsed beneath us.

We were on sand by…large water? It tasted sharp (not nice). Before our eyes closed, we felt a paw on our back. It was soft, (it was nice). We looked up and saw our Father’s face. We did not know him as Father then, but we would soon. His face was smiling (so gently, not like the rest), framed by dusty grey and blue fur. He only had one head, but it was a banevolent one. Mother had NEVER smiled at us before. We liked it when Father smiled. It was…warm (warmer than we had ever known).

Father was not scared of our heads. We were picked up in those soft (so very soft) paws and held against his dense body. He carried us far, far away from the soup and the salt. Further than we had ever been before. The Small One joined Father on his journey when the river became marshland. He was smaller than us but older, much older (and with the eyes of a GOD). Quiet! He was but a Messenger. He was dark coloured, like us. He had one head too, the top half obscured by black clouds. The smoke from these clouds went up our noses (we sneezed, Father laughed) and we could taste the earth on our tongues. They brought us to this place and named us together: One name. One body. One purpose.

This place was new then, freshly dug out of the earth (like our kin's burrows). The Small One had been drawn to it by a song sung from the heavens, and he had brought Father with him. The two of them trained us to speak, to fight, to LIVE (we owe them our survival). They made us stronger, fed us until we grew large enough to eclipse the Soup itself. Then...they stationed us here, by the entrance. A behemoth lurking in the dark. We were unstoppable! Our roar pierced the depths, our teeth flashed in the dim light, and our wings blew hurricanes through the caverns. We became magnificent!

It was during this time that Father became like a father to us (now and forever more). He played with us, taught us of the world and his vision for this place. The Small One had made Father a ruler over all who seek refuge from the outside world. The world had FORGOTTEN Old Kind long ago (as Mother forgot us), and many Old Kind did not fit in with newer times. The Small One would bring them here and they would live their lives in peace with one another under Father's care. It was to be our duty (Father spoke, we listened) to guard this place from those who seek to harm those who sought asylum within. None would pass by us without the Small One's presence, except those escorted by Father. Those of Ancient blood were compelled register their names with the Bookkeeper (we still do not like her). Hush! Those not of Ancient blood could not enter. They shunned us, they have no place with Old Kind. Those are the rules. In or out, it is the same.

That is our story, Outsider. Make of it what you will. Hark! Do you hear the footsteps approaching us (two sets, one smaller than the other)? The smell...Father! It seems you spoke true when you first met us, Outsider. Father has come to see us once again! He brings the Small One. They must know you or they would not have come to your aid. They would have left you at our mercy (we would have DEVOURED you). The Healer would never have glimpsed so much as a claw of yours. Yes, the Healer also passes us many times. She is a good dragon. Soothes us when we itch, fixes us when we are broken (we like the Healer). She smells of Both Worlds. This is strange to us, but the Small One says it is as it is meant to be.

But, circumstances have changed with you also, Outsider. No, to call you Outsider is wrong. Now we know you, you are something else to us. You have listened to us (many who approach do not). Perhaps now we may call you...Friend?

xyVjYcP.jpg?1.jpg In Greek mythology, Cerberus (/ˈsɜːrbərəs/; Greek: Κέρβερος Kerberos [ˈkerberos]), often called the "hound of Hades", is a multi-headed dog that guards the gates of the Underworld to prevent the dead from leaving. Cerberus was the offspring of the monsters Echidna and Typhon, and usually is described as having three heads, a serpent for a tail, and snakes protruding from parts of his body. Cerberus is primarily known for his capture by Heracles, one of Heracles' twelve labours.

Descriptions of Cerberus vary, including the number of his heads. Cerberus was usually three-headed, though not always. Cerberus had several multi-headed
relatives. His father was the multi snake-headed Typhon, and Cerberus was the brother of three other multi-headed monsters, the multi-snake-headed Lernaean Hydra; Orthrus, the two-headed dog who guarded the Cattle of Geryon; and the Chimera, who had three heads, that of a lion, a goat, and a snake. And, like these close relatives, Cerberus was, with only the rare iconographic exception, multi-headed.
