Makes fine delicate jewelry out of most metals


Marble was born into a position of importance within her ice clan, the latest in a long linage of ice-water vessels. The water they held within them was colder than ice but still liquid, the water itself could freeze anything it touched in an instant so nothing could contain it except a rare breed of bogsneak.

The ice-water bogsneaks didn't do much except be ready for any necessary use of their precious cargo, and in their downtime spent it lounging around in the snow. So when a mysterious dragon came to the kingdom, the ice-water dragons were a buzz with excitement. The dragon dressed in a full coverage cloak so not an inch of scale was seen beneath the heavy folds and carried a large pack full to the brim with bric-a-brac.

The cloaked dragon set up a stall to sell his wares, not saying a word but giving a nod after each purchase. When Marble came to view his market stall, noticing that he had almost sold out of anything interesting except for a large stunning moonstone wrapped in tendrils of silver. Without asking, she picked up the gemstone, holding it up to the light to check if it was real.

Marble's speed took the strange dragon by surprise so he couldn't to warn her that the stone was very dangerous. Through the stone, the sun hit Marble full in the face, blinding her momentarily and she dropped it. The moonstone hit the ground with a resounding crash, splitting in two and at the same time Marble fell to her knees, holding her face in pain.

Dragons around her rushed to help her up and check if she was okay but she couldn't speak and when she finally dropped her hands from her face, they all gasped in shock. The skin around Marble's face had turned to stone and was spreading fast.

She was rushed to the clan's medic, by the time she got there the stone had spread down her neck and had started on her wings. After hours of tests by the medic and much spreading of the stone, Marble was sadly told that it was incurable and would probably spread to far and eventually kill her. They also feared that it was somehow contagious and so she was banished from her clan and left to die alone.

Marble walked until she couldn't walk anymore but the stone didn't seem to imped her in any way, actually she felt nothing different, she felt fine. She lowered herself down to look into a pool of water, seeing that the stone was actually showing lines of blue marbled through the white. She actually looked quite lovely, despite the fact she couldn't speak, she liked the stone that now covered her body.

She travelled quite a way, stopping to rest every night, waiting for the stone to overcome her and stop her heart but it never happened. On her trip she pondered the strange dragon who lead to her being stone-covered, he also didn't speak and wore full coverage clothes, but he disappeared before anyone could find him. He might have had the same affliction as her!

Marble's travelling stopped when she encountered a township boarded by bright greenery with small buildings nestled together, this clan actually. She thought the township's dragons would fear or hate her stone-skin but they happily embraced it as they were already a mix of strange and outcast dragons. She fit in perfectly.

As she settled in to the township, Marble discovered with her stone affliction that her strength grew quite a bit. So she started bending and shaping the metals that Arun was hammering away at. She realised that she was very skilled at it, so starting lovingly making jewelry for the villagers.
