Zen Hatchery Breeding Pair: Dusk Fairies

How the dusk fairies came to be:

Demeo

A tall oak tree once home to only fireflies happened to shelter a wounded mage dragon for several nights. His name was Demeo and he was a young dragon still. His curiosity had driven him to lands where nobody in their right minds would go - Emperor territory. Chased and bruised by a rabid eleven headed monster, Demeo was nearly blinded from the pain and blood across his face.

When he thought he was safe he lay down to die in comfort. Death was alright, so long as he wasn’t being mauled into it by an enraged behemoth.

But something flickered and he awoke, to the glistening lights in the near distance. Demeo could only crawl. He approached the dancing lights under a great oak and lay there silently.

He rested there for several nights and the tree provided him with shelter and water from its leaves. When he was healed, Demeo blessed the tree’s spirit with long life and in return it sent along with him everlasting fireflies. They fuelled his magical abilities and helped him become an ally of the forests.

Demeo decided to dedicate his life to healing the forests. He now works as a ranger for the Drake Dynasty Clan, scouting the lush forests and Everglades that surround their barriers.

Nima

His partner is Nima, a mage healer who accompanies him on his rounds. Her expertise lies in healing animals and rehabilitating those that have been wounded or abused by dark forces or dragons that have no business in their woods.

It was fate that brought them together when they were both oriented into the dynasty on the very same day. Demeo and Nima instantly caught each other’s eyes, as their coats were so similar to each other’s and yet distinct from everyone else’s. For a moment they looked like long lost twins.

On further inspection, Demeo found out that Nima had also met with the blessed old oak tree as a young dragon. She had also escaped from emperors and had found the tree at the brink of her death. She hugged its trunk as she gave up and oddly swears to this day that it breathed new life into her. And with the power to now heal animals. She awoke to rabbits hopping in and out of a burrow in the very same tree.

The rabbits had brought her berries and slept in her warm coat until she healed. When she left the tree, they left with her.

What a small world, Demeo thought to himself ... and what great chances of us finding one another.

Dusk Fairies - The Children

Their offspring are called Dusk Fairies and they are mage healers who have the ability to heal either flora or fauna but not both. Dusk Fairies are usually born with magical fireflies that accompany them throughout their lives.

They have a constant need to be in the forests, especially at night.

Dusk fairies are happiest in the great outdoors and can trek across rivers and valleys for days on end. They love to move across wild, untainted lands that are filled with natural mysteries waiting to be uncovered.

Dusk fairies sleep very little and mostly during warm afternoons. They can live off the land quite easily and are able to spend months on their own, trying to get lost in the endless woods.
