Personality: - later -

History: Whisper isn't particularly interested in the cult of personality that Meltaim has built up around herself, or her personal war against the elemental deities of Sornieth. Whisper's alliance with Clan Haemo is mostly one of convenience. A powerful spellcaster from a young age, she was invited to study at the Tourmaline Archives in arcane territory. Ordinary wind magic bored her, however, and within a few years she left school and disappeared into the wilderness of the adjacent Southern Icefields.

While wandering the wilds, half hoping to meet one of the legendary fae creatures said to frequent the frozen mountains, Whisper happened upon the complete fossil of a banescale- one of the banescales who was killed in the ancient conflict with the gaolers. Intrigued, she wondered what sorts of stories the creature could have told if it was alive; what ancient, powerful magics now long forgotten it could teach her.

Whisper decided that she was going to find out; she was going to bring the banescale back to life. However, her lofty goals were swiftly proven impractical, as all she managed to do was animate the ancient skeleton into a glorified golem. There was no soul within the bones, no intelligence, just a mute, shambling thing that could do little but obey simple orders.

This was a surprisingly powerful irritant. Whisper knew there were dragons who could raise undead armies, but that was certainly not her objective. She wanted to properly raise the dead, soul, flesh and all. Deciding that perhaps she simply lacked sufficient power, Whisper undertook the dangerous task of sneaking onto the Magmablood Rebuke volcano. Then, taking a second skeleton she'd exhumed along the way, she pitched it into the mouth of the volcano while casting the spell of reanimation. This time, it did work... partially. The skeleton emerged, wreathed in flame, and spoke to Whisper... but it soon became clear that this was not the original soul who had owned the bones, but a new soul, born of the immense concentration of fire magic stuffed into the skeleton.
