INFORMATION AND BACKGROUND
Collector and holder of Jewelry Box Fae. The little things develop and appear more often than ever in the last year of so, as the lair enjoys its prosperity and growth.
This dragon's obsession with the phenomena began quite early in life, when a favorite plaything, which was nothing more than an aunty's discarded, gaudy clip-on earring, twitched, wiggled, and blinked to life.
The over-sized, over-bright gem, surrounded by bad pearls, glued on with visible and yellowing paste had become a tiny fae. The little creature, now fully realized with a striking silver body and brilliant bright colors on her gem-made wings, could be seen reflecting light even under water, or in the dusty darkness of caves.
So impressed and pleased with her change, with the validation that she was just as valuable as he would always pretend, that he decided to seek more like her.
To keep her company.
At first.
His obsession has since morphed, to the point where he himself is very much like a jewelry box fae. He has grown into a very refined young fae. He only wears styles befitting of high fashion. He only uses utensils, machinery, or furniture that would suit his appearance if he were noticed standing near... he is, frankly, utterly consumed by appearance, and well, the wealth necessary to facilitate such preoccupations.
All of this really stems from his desire to continue to collect the jewelry box fae, of course. He works in museums as a curator and as an appraiser; he studies history, teaching it in casual but affluent settings, almost as a source of entertainment for the upper elite who come to social events and diplomatic dinners; and he has learned to also deal in secrets and information.
...after all, some simply aren't really willing to sell their jewelry box fae should they turn out to be so lucky to have one...

ABOUT
once his aunty's gaudy earring. He pretended the earring was the most valuable treasure, hiding it for other hatchlings to find, and then playing out big imaginative stories involving buying the gem back, or stealing it, while his dragonling friends would try to keep it away. It was his most beloved toy, when it was still jewelry. She is now a dear friend, or like a child he wishes to protect.

ART AND MISCELLANEOUS
INFORMATION AND BACKGROUND: Jewelry Box Fae
About Sparrow's Obsession:
Dragons Sornieth-wide love to decorate themselves in various types of apparel. One of the most eye-catching of accessories is, of course, jewelry. Precious stones and metals are mined, refined, and fashioned into beautiful necklaces, rings, bracelets, any shape of sparkling adornment a dragon could ever desire. Jewelry has been coveted as a sign of beauty and wealth for ages, as long as dragonkind can remember. But jewelry doesn't always remain jewelry.
It is a rare phenomenon that dates beyond the memory of any living dragon: every so often, a dragon will wake up and find that their jewelry has come to life.
We call these unusual creatures Jewelry Box Fae.
