Personality: Kalanchoe cannot talk or move anymore, so his personality is hard to grasp. He was raised as a point of pride by his birth clan for his primal eyes, and is full of anxiety regarding his future and what to do now that he's become immobile.
His parents were so proud. "Blessed by the Gladekeeper!" they said, seeing the sprouts around his eyes. Sure, his colors were not the best, but he was a chosen one. He very quickly began to feel stiff in the joints. Mornings were the worst, he had trouble getting up after staying unmoving for hours. He felt heavy, dense. His parents were worried. The healer said it could happen. "The influence of the Gladekeeper is stronger on some chosen... Sometimes the roots don't stop at the eyes." They definitely didn't stop at the eyes. Soon, his skin became harder, brown. Even if his skin was pierced, there was no more blood in his body, just soil and sap. Succulents and trees sprouted out of his back. It was getting harder and harder to move. He was getting desperate. He couldn't stay in the Labyrinth, because maybe if he distanced himself from the Gladekeeper's influence, it would slow down his curse? He ran away, crossed the sea with great difficulty. He didn't get very far though. The neighbouring Tangled Woods was as fall as he could go before being completely paralyzed. One day, as Gwaihi was getting out of the Cult's pocket dimension to go gathering in the Viridian Labyrinth, he found himself nose-to-chest with Kalanchoe. He thought at first that he was a weird statue, but quickly realized (as a fellow dragon cursed by plants) that he was a dragon, still alive and desperate for help. Gwaihi immediately went back to the Cult to get help and move the gigantic dragon to the pocket dimension. After examination by Akantha and her crew, it was determined that, unlike Patina who was a cursed statue and therefore didn't mind her immobility, Kalanchoe was a cursed dragon, and so she started looking for a cure to at least give him back some of his mobility. In the meantime, since a lot of his plants were succulents, he would live with Nedus, who would be his caretaker. Playlist: |
