Rather abrasive and blunt Ainsworth prefers to keep to himself away from the main areas other dragons frequent. Making home in the brambles of a thicket he often looks a bit unkempt, though his massive amounts of fur prevent any actual damage to him and Chise from the surrounding thorns.

The earliest memory Ainsworth has is wandering the Southern Icefield and being woken up by a small white dragon in a panic. She told him they had been chasing after something that had escaped. Unsure what they were following Ainsworth opted to instead find a safe place to rest for the night to gather their bearings.
With the small unknown dragon curled up beneath him he slept; waking in the morning to find her missing. Being the only one who might be aware the child was missing he began tracking her down, spending about a month following her before ending up in the Tangled Wood; tired and quite famished from the long journey set his mind to one of rest and food, wandering into the nearby bar to rest himself, eventually finding out the dragons running it knew where little Chise was.
Being blunt and a bit rude he eventually found out from the pair where she was, bounding out of the bar and into the woods, perhaps being a bit over enthusiastic in his effort to get this over with he barged into the clans lair, immediately met with some rather large imperials staring him down. Ainsworth, not being a coward by his own words only faltered for a moment before calling for Chise; the white dragon running out from another room and tackling him over with her new full grown size. That was certainly a surprise.
